Just renewed our maid's contract and have not had to go to the embassy on either occasion to have it stamped. The guidelines re: salary from the Philippines govt. are just that - guidelines. They are not legal obligations that require some form of official stamp.Call the embassy to check out - they are quite helpful (as and when they decide to pick up the phone!)

We recently sponsored our fillipino maid and she hasn't mentioned this to us. The Labour Contract which was given to us was signed by DH and Maid. Both have a copy each which was stamped by Labour Office. So may be that's what she wants her copy of the contract.

We have just sponsored our maid and completed the whole process and she seems to think that in order for her to register at the Philippino embassy (and therefore if she needs assistance they are aware of her over here etc) she needs the contract verified and stamped by the embassy... I have searched on here and not found anything.Does anyone know if this is indeed the case? I can't find anything on the POLO website either.Thank you!
