I go to Motorcity weekly, I have seen mother/babies, and have watched the kittens grow into beautiful young cats. I have witnesses nothing but people's admiration and enjoyment of them, I can not believe anyone has complained about them being there!!

I will pass the word around to everyone I can think of see if anyone can take them, I'm only sorry that I am no longer in a position to take them since adopting again My heartfelt goodluck to everyone and the precious cats xx

Thanks, Assisi. I have tried to send you the photos. Just to update. Still no solution. I gather Feline Friends have been constantly trying to get to speak to the management company but last I heard they hadn't got back to them. I am following up on a possible warehouse lead (yes, I know it is not ideal, but.....). Several very kind people have contacted me to express their concern and asking how they can help (which is greatly appreciated). I knew these cats had quite a fan club of devoted feeders as I have seen so many people interact with them while I have been there with my coffee. We just need to pray that between all of us, a solution will be found. I have been back today and the cats weren't there, so for my own peace of mind, I will go back later to see if they have returned.

I so genuinely appreciate the interest and involvment of those who have contacted me and of course, Feline Friends, and if I am honest I still don't know what to do, but I am just hoping that Feline Friends will be able to convince the management to have a rethink and let them stay where they obviously already have a lot of support.

If anyone has any ideas....please post. Thanks!

Snowflake - if you want to email me the photos, I'll put them on my picasa thing and put the link up here.

Glad you seem to be getting there ... fingers crossed Union Properties reconsider their position.

First a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for all your help and advice. I am so so so grateful to you..(Assisi, Samarhabibi & Nomad), the girl (J) who initially found the trap and stood guard over it for three hours yesterday in the heat trying to stop them catching the cats and the two wonderful Feline Friends volunteers who turned up today. You have all restored my faith in humanity!!! As a result of some recent events, I had begun to despair of people helping with similar situations, but this has certainly made me realise that there are a lot of amazing people out there who are prepared to get involved and help out. THANKS!

Now for an update my end. A great FF volunteer turned up at 8 this morning to meet me and J (who did such a great job of 'guarding' the cats yesterday). She was going to go the management office and try to speak to the guy to get him to realise what an asset the cats could be to the area. Don't know if she would have got much joy based on yesterday's events. It was as much as we could do to get him to grant them a stay of execution of 24 hours. Time is ticking! It seems that both the kittens had already been neutered and checked by FF so they are all ready to go to a new home.

The few shoppers who passed by all smiled, chatted and played with the cats and we tried our hardest to see if anyone of them had a home / warehouse / stable where the cats could go....no joy so far. They seem to be so well liked and cared for by the majority of the people in the community that it seems tragic that possibly based on one or two complaints from heaven only knows who, they should be euthanized when they could be such a help with shops there for pest control.

Another girl passed who also turned out to be a FF volunteer and she is going to try to catch the mother (who hasn't been 'done'). I didn't actually realise there was a mother around as I had only ever seen the two youngsters.

So many people have been so kind.....and I am desperately hoping we can help them find a home. I am asking everyone I know. They are such amazing personalities and the little boy is particularly friendly and playful. The little girl is quieter and smaller.

I am hoping that the first FF volunteer can persuade the 'management' to re-think their decision and she said she will get back to me with an update. If that fails, I guess we will have to think of temporary homes in the hope that we can find something more permanent for these cute guys. Thanks for the email, Assisi. I will email you asap with my details and thanks for the help.

I have taken some photos of them and now I just need someone to help me put them up here. I am not familiar with Facebook or Piscaweb (which I know have been used in the past to show photos of available animals).

So hoping for a small miracle on this one.......anyone know of a kind warehouse owner / stable , etc that would welcome some reliable enthusiastic mousers in exchange for some nibblies and love? I think that some good temporary names for them would be Nero, Caribou and Starbucks after the coffee shops they like to hang out around on that stretch of road. Cats after my own heart! LOL!

Thank you again all. Please ask around to find them a home. Will keep you posted.

They are circa 8 months old. I think both are black, if I remember rightly. I've texted the lady who was going this morning to see if she had any joy.

Edited to add my friend texted me back - she spoke to someone in the management there, who wasn't nice or sympathetic re situation

Samarhabibi / Snowflake - can you both email me so we can coordinate further missuswalker at yahoo dot co dot uk ... if there is an option of a temporary 'safe haven' in someones bathroom / spare room / garden this may be needed right now.

Hi everyone,

I, too, am an FF volunteer and would like to help. Getting posters up is a good idea. Also, if we can get someone down to the Ministry with pictures that can help as well. Especially if the picture shows that the cats ears have been tipped. The Ministry has agreed not to trap/euthanize ANY ear tipped cats.
Does anyone know how old they are? Older kittens (probably as young as 14 weeks old) may not do well living indoors. If no one else can keep them in their garden, we can look at moving them to mine, if we can get them back.

Unfortunately, I have meetings booked solid until the end of the week. Assisi, any word from your end? Did you get a chance to go this morning?

@ Snowflake bless you for getting involved &
Assisi for your tireless help.
A good idea would be to put up as many posters as
possible with their photos on in( the area where they
hang out), stating that they areessentially running out
of time. Make it as dramatic as possible as they are in
fact in grave danger of being euthanised.
I know security tend to take the posters down ( you can
tell I did this a lot LOL ). What I used to do was to approach
them tears welling over in the eyes pleading with them to at least
leave them up for 24 hours .
From all the traffic of people that it seems cuddle and feed these
two there is bound to be someone who can at least foster.

If it were me and you can't find any other solution with our kitty
angels at FF, bring them home to your garden. At least it gives
them a reprieve for the time being. I am not sure how they would
do locked in a bathromm at this stage but you could possibly try.

Hopefully it will not come to this and FF can come up with a temporary
solution.

All the best

Hi Assisi.....thank you so much for even getting someone to help out. I know feline friends are inundated with cats and they can't provide an instant solution, but I truly appreciate you and them taking the trouble to get involved. I have already spoken to my friend and she said that she will be happy to go down to meet the Feline Friends person at 8 am. The cats usually hang out by Starbucks next to Spinneys, so she will be there at 8 am. She has given me the names of the people she spoke to at the management company, but it might not be a good idea for me to publish them on this forum. She will, however, be more than happy to give her all the details tomorrow. I know there was another lady involved this morning who was also trying to help, but as she is only visiting she isn't in a position to offer a home, although she was totally committed to trying to help the cats out and even removed the food from the trap and closed the trapdoor to stop them catching them. I will make sure she knows what is happening. I know FF are constantly busy with so many cats so I really do appreciate this input and we are certainly not going to walk away and expect FF to sort it out....not fair....but would be so grateful of any possible solutions.

Snowflake - The FF volunteer has read your post and is going down at 8am in the morning. She asks is there someone she can speak to in the management company? Who did your friend speak to? This would help enormously.

Hi Assisi. I know you by name from this forum and I know you are a caring, active cat lover, so I appreciate you taking the trouble to answer our plea for help. Both my friend and I are trying to convince our hubbies to take them on temporarily, but as we both have cats already this is proving difficult. Unfortunately my methods of persuasion are being undermined by the difficulties we had with a past experence of trying to get my spoilt indoor cats to accept a foster one.

Unfortunately this is totally the wrong time of year to be looking for a home, but at this stage (when the management told my friend they would only give her 24 hours before they took them) I would be grateful for a cat loving warehouse that would welcome two active enthusiastic mousers. I wish there was a kindly farmer near who would welcome them as pest control. I had thought of keeping them in my spare bathroom, but would that be cruel when they are used to being free to roam outside? Would it be cruel to bring them over to my house and keep them as outside cats until, hopefully, something turns up? What do you think? Although that too is fraught with problems as I just don't know what I would do when I go on holiday in a few weeks. I know these are the sorts of problems you and other active animal helpers face every day and I do appreciate you even considering taking them with your house already full. I would be grateful if you could keep these two little ones in mind when you are looking for homes for your crowd. My friend is desperately hoping the management company give them a stay of execution (24 hours is awful) and we just hope that we can find a solution. I know my friend has put up a poster in Spinneys. The sad thing is that we have seen so many people chatting to / playing with / feeding them, but these people may not be aware that they are now on death row and in desperate need of help.

Please if anyone has any ideas......let us know. I know they are two of thousands, but as they have always been so friendly with all the passers by it seems doubly tragic that they are being threatened with being euthanized.

I'll text my FF contacts, but honestly snowflake, chances of an instant solution are slim.

If there is any possibility you could take them into your apartment/villa and advertise them for adoption in Spinneys, then this would be best.

By next Sunday, I will have 5 kittens aged 6 - 18 weeks at mine, plus two pet cats, plus two dogs, so they can't come here. All kittens were rescued from life/death situations. And all need homes.

Sorry I can't be more positive.

Edited to add have got in touch with FF volunteer who got these guys spayed/neutered. She is going to go down there and check it out.

Some of you may know the two kittens with great personalities who live on the street near Spinneys, Motorcity. So many people stop to talk, play with them or feed them. One has definitely been 'done' and has a clipped ear. They are very friendly and whilst it is in no way ideal, they seem to be coping with 'living on the street'. Unfortunately, my friend rang me today to tell me that they have placed a trap for them to be taken away to be euthanized. I gather that she and another woman spent the morning trying to unsuccessfully convince the relevant authorities that the cats may actually help the environment by keeping the rats down. The shopkeepers around the area were asked if they had objected and were told no....but the official from the management company said that people had complained!!! Equally, even more people love the cats being around. As cat lovers, my friend and I would love to help find a solution to this. Does anyone have any ideas? I know it is nearly impossible to get someone to give them a home....but does anyone want them? Maybe you know someone who has a warehouse / area that they would welcome some expert rat catchers. I know a home would be the best solution, but at this stage it would be nice just to be able to give them a chance to live. Does municipality insist on taking all cats off the streets (as stated by the management official) or not? I know that they don't have much time left (she was told 24 hours).......so please......any ideas. I know a lot of people seem to talk / feed them so I am hoping that someone will try to help them.

Any ideas please!
