Hiya
This is the first time I need highlights in Dubai, usually get them done in Cape Town, can anyone recommend a hairdresser that is good with blonde highlights? Also, with prices that aren't through the roof. Preferably in the Marina, JBR or JLT, but willing to travel.
Thanks Girls

You wouldn't believe what my hair looks like when i went to Janice at Hairworks in Ibn Battuta (next to Lime Tree Cafe) weeks ago, she fixed it in a very professional manner and i went out of the salon very happy. She was very patient fixing a very damaged hair and she was very successful in turning it into a lovely one. Kudos to you Janice and for sure im gonna bring my friends to you! Losing hope bout your hair? go to Janice and she knows how tof ix it properly!

Late in, you've probably gone somewhere by now, but I use Janice at Hairworks in Ibn Battuta (next to Lime Tree Cafe) and she seems to have a really intuitive sense of colour and will work it in so it's not so obvious as it grows out. Been very happy with her work.

Hi Girls I just got back from Nabiha at Hairworks in Rimal 1 JBR. Had a half head of highlights and she has done a fabulous job. I come from a family of hairdressers, so can be quite critical, but must say, I am very very impressed and would highly recommend her. She is a lovely person as well, nice to chat to. Very professional. Will be going back. Paid 355 for half head. Thanks Beebers and Pamya for the recommendation. Sorry, silly question - but what do you mean by 'half head'? Top half of your head, not whole head - basically!

The best hairdresser for blonde highlights has to be Marika at Hairworks in Ibn Battuta. She is really fantastic.

I'm a Freelance hairdresser based in the Marina :) I'm about to write a post asking about best places to advertise in Dubai for expats clients. Moved here just before Christmas! :D

My DD goes to Beckie at the Coral Boutique Hotel near MOE. She wouldn't go to anyone else and I think she pays about 450. edited by amelia on 10/02/2012

I agree, with the weather and water, I have refrained from highlighting much. I did get some last September from Nabiha at Hairworks in JBR. I was really pleased with 1) the color turnout (I am a brunette that pulls red and it's a **** shoot with bleach. the tone was great). 2) Condition of my hair after--the same! 3) expert placement--I wanted to avoid striping and wanted a more blended look. it turned out exactly as I asked. I am sure she is not the only one around here that won't, but Nabiha said irrespective of hair color, she would never use over 10 volume bleach. Back home they used 20-30 which can be so much more damaging.

For colour of highlights, I'd recommend CJ at SOS salon in Town Centre. She's amazing at colour.

Unfortunately Dubai is not the best place to get highlights. They destroyed my hair last year, and only now, after a year, it is starting to look good again. My advise: dont go to a cheap place, go to a good expensive, posh place and be ready to splash your cash as the average places are rubbish. Good luck.

1. Ted Morgan at the Palm. 2. Hairworks in JBR. 3. Juans in JLT. I would choose them in that order. The priciest at the top and cheaper as you go down.
