Also used Cellmetro in JLT in the end - service was incredibly fast - they will pick up and deliver too for no extra cost - very happy - fixed my ipad 2 screen for AED 495

Take it from some one who had spent a fortune on fixing IPAD2 screens (had it fixed 3 times, 700, 650 and 600 Aed at minutes shops, and each time i say its THE last time and Its cheaper than buying a new one), GO TO SATWA and get it fixed at 150 Aed!!!!

If its not at the MAC shop, then it won't be an original screen. So you might as well pay less than the 500+ Aed these shops ask for. And no matter how much they confirm and vow its an original screen from Mac, please don't believe them as a regular customer to Minutes, one of their staff confide to me saying that its Chinese, like the ones in satwa!

and just to let you know, the last time i fixed it (last week), the screen looks authentic and working perfectly!

CellFix on SZR will do it, I believe. Except they don't seem to exist anymore, I just tried to google them and came up with zilch. Sorry

Hello ladies, just wondering - did anyone have any luck? I've just managed to smash the screen of my ipad2 too and wondering whether I have any chance of getting it fixed if not insured? Thanks!

wow, but did she drop it? It bounced down the steps and onto the tile floor and I don't think they could be convinced otherwise. There's no apple shop here, just online - they won't open an independant shop here because they don't want to share ownership with anyone I read different things from different countries about apple's policy on this but there were lots of very different answers and I figured since I dropped it I wouldn't be covered. . . should have insured it . . . we live and learn

Yes, her daughter dropped it and they were up front about it! I think they actually replaced it with a new iPad, not just the screen.

Here they give you a 500dhs discount on purchasing a new one. That's why I'm getting mine fixed. So annoying!

Yes, you can. You can even buy the parts to do it yourself - a new front panel costs $149 - but it's a complicated job. You can see the step-by-step instructions for replacing it here.

and bu gger it up completely !!! (i've seen the you tube video lol)

I used one of the firms in JLT for a BB repair and felt the same way about giving my phone away. They repaired it same day and rang and gave a quote for the repair. Sorry I cant for the life of me remember their name, but the were extremely professional and were referred by the EW ladies. Maybe do a search for phone repairs.

CellMetro is in JLT, used them to fix iPod touch screen, bb and a Nokia every time they came back like new. Am going to use them to fix my iPad2 screen too. They guarantee the screen, and have checked in uk, oz and USA and in all three countries they now sell original parts.

I wouldn't let anyone touch it unless apple...they will never get it exactly the same...it happened with my I phone the screen was thicker and eventually just kept jamming because of it.

Thanks ladies and I'll try them but have you used them before? I'm a bit nervous about them taking it and never coming back . . .

Started my day with my little princess bouncing my ipad2 down the stairs and smashing the screen so now need to get it repaired. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can have it done and approximately how much it will cost? TIA
