Hi there,
I'm just looking into nurseries for my son to start part time in Sept. Frankly this has been enough of a headache although am definitely getting there. However, I've been told by many people now I should be urgently looking into school places too.

Are there any other schools that are good, don't break the bank and not a million miles away from Jumeirah Village Triangle? How about Emirates Int School at Meadows? Jebel Ali Primary School...? (Also JA Nursery in Meadows?).

Thank you!!

Sorry was supposed to say I have place at JAPS for next year 2013! Hugsys - yes she is at nursery. She started last September when she was 2 yrs 4 months, just three days a week. She will be starting in FS1 in nursery this September and going five days, which she will love, she gets bored on her off days now! I was really happy to keep her in nursery for another year. Pav as Blondie says just get the applications in asap, a month or two can make a difference between getting an assessment or not!

Well if it's for 2014/15 I don't think it's too late in the day. I would get visiting and filling in those forms before the summer hols. A word of warning to get her name down at 2 or 3 schools is going to cost you upto 2k aed but it's worth it to stand a chance of getting a school. Good luck!!

I had exactly the same experience as you. I starting looking for nurseries and then heard from people that I should have had my daughters name down at schools from the day she was born! I only registered her when she was almost two years old but we ended up with a few options so I shouldnt have stressed so much! She is going in FS1 this September. We registered for Horizon, Safa, Star International and Jebel Ali (they told me there was not much chance but I paid the fee anyway). We we ended up with places at Safa and Star and the most amazing news was we got an assesment a few months back and got a place at Jebel Ali for 2014! Anything is possible people leave and there also has to be a good boy/girl ratio in the classes. Choose a few schools and get him down before the summer break. Good luck Congrats on your LO getting into JAPS. What nursery was she at before hand?

Thanks ladies. Will look into those you both mentioned. I'm hoping to see Jebel Ali soon - congratulations on getting your little one in parkernz! I am currently looking at getting him in for FS 1 or 2 depending on the nursery side of things so it will be 2014 / 15 to answer your question Blondie68. Sometimes it seems like choice is not always the best thing - life gets so complicated!

Try Horizon, Star, Safa DBS. When are you looking for him to start, 2013?
