Tiara and OCeana have private beaches. They are a different setup to Shoreline.Marina is less child friendly and is having 'Nakheel' issues at teh moment.Fairmont has a lovely pool area and will get a private beach at some stage. These are all on the Palm.

Thank you everyone. We are quite liking the idea of these apartments at the moment. Tossing up between them and a villa but I like the idea of the pools/play areas/shops/beach access in these and that we don't have to worry about the DEWA charges being so high like in a Villa. Are there any similar apartments to these? I heard these are the only ones with a private beach?

We've just moved out of building 9 after nine months of putting up with Nakheel's ridiculous behaviour. That aside, there are advantages of living in these apartments if all runs smoothly. The facilities are good (if you have access) and some of the views are spectacular. Building 8 is also not owned by Nakheel, but Fairmont and has its own private beach club which is lovely. Just be warned if you go for other buildings check that your LL is up to date in service charge payments most importantly and try and get sthg written into contract that says he is obliged to arrange access for you. Just one last thing - the sea water is a slight worry. It can go strange colours and an environmental expert friend of mine says it is often full of bacteria that can be harmful. So much of the natural reef and filter system has been destroyed hence these issues.

Building 10 is not short stay. It does not belong to Nakkheel (which is a good thing) - It is privately owned and is a fantastic building - All flats are furnished, hence the prices for 3 beds (190 - 210) - There is a nursery on the ground floor; a grocery store and a hairdresser and spa)) You also have pharmacies and restaurants which you can order take aways as well. In my experience and I have lived there 4 years, the Palm is not isolated as there is direct acces to Sheik Zayed Road. It is also one of the few areas in Dubai where you can walk and don't have to use a car to access shops and restaurants. There are playgrounds for kids and pools with baby splashing area - The beach and gardens. Good luck with your search.
The rents at Shoreline vary significantly depending on whether you are on the right (on the beach) or left (not on beach access) and whether the view is great or not. We considered them but went Tiara in the end but you won't get a 3 bed for that price. We are next door and our view faces down along Shoreline and they have lovely pools and gardens. I have friends who are in building 9. I think 10 is short stay only. Building 1 would be a pain with access.

We have 3 double bedrooms, a maids room which is en-suit but no study. At the bottom of every building is a little play-park and as I am not on the "sea" side I am watching the construction of a large park that will go down the centre of the Palm.Looks like it will be good when it's finished.
We are in a 3 bed with a rubbish view and pay 130,000.
3 bedrooms with maids room are 190-210 depending if sea view or not.
Thank you. I am just wondering what they rent out for. We are looking at a max of 170/year. Thanks again!

we are not living there but i think i remember seeing some threads about beach access/LL issues in the shoreline apartments buildings, if you try to type 'shoreline' into the search engine you can probably find those...

Could also consider the Canal Cove townhomes .. they are 3 bedroom and have a shared pool, access to beach. There were some listed on Dubizzle if you used the keyword "Canal". Haven't tried it, but could also use "shoreline" as a keyword. We love the Canal Coves homes on The Palm and they are about 280-340, depending on layout.edited by clindsey on 23/06/2012
We would like a 3 bedroom possibly with study and maids room. Can't seem to find anything? Thanks
