Most of the people I know pay for all their fines at the time of registration of their car. But then Dubai Police has started some Late Fee that is added per month or after every 2 months...its around 15-20 AED or so..but this will be added to the fine as late fee.

If you receive the text, you have to go down there, because they want to see your driving license etc....

(remember the drama I had when I lost my DL and had to produce new one before going there...)

There is a ladies queue so you are in and out pretty quickly. The Lane Violation thing is the most common one I think, and they are usually right. If you check online it does tell you the street it happened in and date, so you can work out what you did that was wrong ;-)

sometimes ppl get texted wrongly..thats why its better to cross check before you take all the pains and go there or ask on the toll free number if there is a fine registered against ur car...because in cases as lane cutting, its the car-plate number that gets fined..i was fined 200 and given 2 black points..

only incase of being issued a black point do you need to go there because then they need to see ur licence...otherwise it can be settled through interent

Check on the internet first...

if the fine appears there then see if you can pay via internet..if you can then you dont need to worry about going to al barsha..incase the fine cant be paid via internet then You will have to go there.. a bit tedious..

I received an sms stating " A traffic ticket was issued on plate xxxxx Priv d, violating driver to be present or else the vehicle will be impounded for a month".
Where do I go to pay the fine? police station or the traffic department in al ghusais?
Thanks, Trisha:

naughty me, i have just got this text, for lane violation . The choice I had was driving to Sharjah or crossing the white line as I was in the wrong lane;-( Red fine so I need to go the Al Barsha police, does anyone know how long I get to do this? I have tried to call, it just rings out.

TIA
