Hi,
Decided to post here after trying my luck at the Abu dhabi boards.

Have started walking to lose weight. So previously (for about 12 days) I did 4000 steps (about 3km) per day. Just recently read that in order to use walking as a weight loss plan, need to do between 12000-15000 steps a day.

I am determined and will be walking (and jogging c25k) for an hour in the morning from 7:00-8:15 am taking the Abu dhabi corniche route down and then going to work.

If anyone would like to join me please let me know. This will be 5 days a week sun-thu. :)

GoodMorning, sorry for the delayed reply. I would luv to share results on a daily basis and yes, could use all the motivation i can get to reach 12000. Its not as easy as it seemed :). How would you suggest we do it though? I have joined sparkpeople.com (my third time on and off there) and this time I am hoping to stay focussed and on it. So far I have clocked about 7000-8000 steps max on average per day.. that is about 5 - 5.5km per day. Since doing the c25k will gradually increase the distance, i am keeping that as my training. You mentioned you are using ur pedometer... may i ask which brand and how is it? do you wear it all day?

Till now I have been using a pedometer app on my iPhone, however I am considering getting a pedometer with heart rate monitor for this purpose... Might encourage me to reach my daily goal :) and to move in the range required for weight loss.
