I go to Juan too and have done for quite a few years. However, only Juan cuts and colours it although there are other people working there. He chooses the colour for me too as he quite rightly pointed out it's his job to know what will work for my hair colour at the time. I usually get a pedi while I'm in too and only good things to say.

Juan gets a lot of stick on this forum, not because he is a **** hairdresser as some try to make out, but because he is connected to an ex poster that everyone loves to hate. Quite pathetic really. I have gone to him for years and always been delighted, why don't you try him and judge for yourself.

I went to Juan's salon for a couple of years (when he was still at the palm hotel). I loved it when Chadi (used to work there) highlighted my naturally very dark hair. But everytime Juan did it when Chadi left - it always came out ''Orangy''. I then had a break and went to Khalid at Hairlounge and he does the blonde beautifully. In June I couldn't see Khalid he was fully booked. So went to Juans salon again and he wanted to dye my blonde head completely dark and redo my highlights!! I said no way - cos your hair becomes so dry just highlighting it regularly. Anyway I walked out with darker hair, and one side longer than the other with rats tails. As much as I want to like Juans salon - I just can't!. I had a similar experience as Juan advised me to go darker and chose a brown shade but it came out orange tint. When I went to school to pick up my youngest dd one of her little friends said to me " you've done something to your hair" I replied that I had and asked if she liked it, She said "no"! Kids that young dpm't know to tell a white lie to be kind:-) It took me ages to grow out that darker colour. Some people have had great experiences at Juan but I tried a few times and didn't like it. Once I was having a facial and the girl doing it spent the whole time telling me about how badly off she was and how her husband had had a cut in salary:not relaxing at all.

I've been going to Juans for 5 years now and used to go to him too when he was in the Palm Hotel! I have always been happy with my hair. He usually offers packages that include cut, colour, mani and pedi and it's a great deal. when I come out of there I feel a million dollars. Need to go back for a new cut soon and think I will go back to highlights too - I split between him doing my colour and I also do it myself (although he's not impressed with my home done colour!!!!!). He's stocking a new colour range - can't remember which one but he was telling me about it when I was last in there. The girl that does waxing is good and they do very good manicures and pedicures in there too.
