Mmm, I wonder how many people will read this thinking their name is "Purple" or "ARancher"....

Do you have different sized pillowcases for bed pillows? Mine keep getting mixed up with each other which wastes a lot of time faffing around with wrong sizes when the beds are getting changed. How do you store them so it's clear which ones are which?

To OP. I'm not OCD, but I hate faffing around sorting through bedding. Basically, when I (or rather the homehelp) wash a set of matching bedding, the whole set gets ironed, folded and put away into one of the pillow case. Job done.

I would not want to be responsible for your health if you saw my tin cupboard which is also the spice cupboard and the packet cupboard. let's just say that things are piled up in such a strategic way that they don't fall on your head when you open the door, but if anyone tampers with it.......... Im doing deep -calming- breathing just reading that, LOL

[i'>I am amazed at how many people have the name Purple and ARancher! Gosh! [/i'> Just getting ideas for my next username and PurpleRancher was one I've liked for ages. (agree, get rid of the odd ones). edited by Sanddy_Dogg on 08/03/2011 We've the whole spectrum to work through. RedRancher has a nice ring to it. I'm suprised there are no Springers etc out there

Gosh, I feel so flattered to be asked for advice:-) We have a super king in the masterbedroom while the kids' beds and the bed in the guest room are the same size. All the pillows are the same size but honestly that just happened by chance. I keep the pillowcases in the bedrooms so they don't get mixed up and anyway they all *have to match the duvet cover that is on the bed* - I assume you are all doing this already. The idea of sewing on the labels is a really good one. I might do that with underwear as eldest dd and myself are now the same size. I think emptying cans into clear boxes would be very unhygenic. They'd have to be stored in the fridge then. Anyway, I've gone right off plastic boxes for storing food and have mostly glass. There's a real cute glass container in Daiso just right for storing small portions. C4 sells a some of their own brand of beans & other veg in glass containers which might work for the ocder. Though I think her issue is conformity of size and shape. That's what I'm working towards with all the little glass boxes from Daiso:-) I've taken to listing on the fridge the contents of the fridge, freezer and the freezer in the garage. Really very helpful.

I would agree with that; they would go off? She indicated she's not much for cans often anyway - but when she does - in they go. Oh, MissB, please invite us ;)

No singles! No kids or live-in maids in the house. Couldn't bear to have three sizes! I already store the sheets in their respective rooms but it takes supervision and the pillow cases already get messed up as you know! I think you're right about getting the same sized beds - it will just make life easier :) I thought of you the other day when I met a fellow OCDer at a brunch - she was so much more over the top than I am and I was in awe! She doesn't have a can or box in her kitchen - only clear containers that are perfectly aligned in her cupboard. She's my new idol (sorry, you lost your crown :( lol) I do the clear boxes, but what, no cans? How does that work? Does she not buy tinned food? I could learn from this woman, lol

[b'>you need to have same size in master and guest or it will never work[/b'>, I assume you have some single beds too? [b'>Thats 3 sizes in that case. Dont think I could sleep at night if the sheets were all in the same cupboard then, haha[/b'>. Maybe store the sheets for each bed in the same room as the bed so they dont get mixed up. (Seriously, non OCD'ers, stay away, we ARE crazy, we know already, lol) That literally made me laugh out loud! :-)))

Well, to be extremely honest - I just gave one away a queen size bed yesterday and buying a new one is eatin' my brain up 'cause I don't want to be TOO wasteful - I wanted to make the master king size bed the guest bed 'cause it's such a nice bed and get a queen size bed for the master - but the whole sheets thing is killing me!

That's what happens in some Arabic households with the kandooras - every man has his own thread colour stitched in the back collar. Never thought of using that idea for pillowcases! That is what I do with sport socks. A small double stitch at the toe. Blue for DS, red for DD (she has big feet) and blank for DH :)

Thinking further, I stress over the different sized beds, too. I think I will get those iron on labels for the different sized fitted sheets. I heart this forum. Hahaha you allow different size beds in your house? oh no, lol

I am not Purple or ARancher but I am OCD :) When DS & DD were younger we had different coloured sheets but as they got older and we all had white I would stitch on a small bought embroidered picture on the underside corner of pillowcases, the underside of the turndown part of the top sheet and under the elastic of the fitted sheet. DD was a daffodil and DS was a star. Blank was DH and I. HTH. omg please stay away before you give me any more crazy ideas, lol :D
