I agree with Madge1. Plus English is not her mother tongue and she struggled to find some words during the consult, not a great 'bedside' manner. We always went to Dr. Khan at cooper health and he is a great Dr., really sweet, and I would recommend him without hesitation, but my daughter go to a point where she wanted a female Dr., I'm still looking!

we have tried few children doctors in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, when we did see dr talal farha who was recommended to us, we never looked back or considered alternatives. we trust him, like his style and team, occasionally had to wait in his clinic in Healthcare city, but we happily make the trip every time. we can surely recommend him. very calming with excellent knowledge . i witnessed first hand one toddler, could be 2 years old, coming to his clinic and running to his room to say hello.

Health Bay Polyclinic-Dr. Rita Kovesdi Most of my friend's children go see her and they always praise her rather highly. I wouldn't recommend her, we've visited her couple of times with my twins, she was always late, during a visit spent most time looking down through her papers, not paying enough attention to the kids, besides that she has a quite rough attitude....also the staff at reception is very unprofessional (I mean they don't use the word PLEASE they tend to speak to people like...take this, go there...etc and zero smile, not kind of a place I would like to come back to.

Dr Talal in Farha Children Clinic, very highly recommended. looked after our 2 since one was premature in the city hospital in really hard times and managed to pull the other out of a very serious illness called kawasaki disease, with no complications, as a results of his amazing clinical skills. he was the head of paediatrics in that hospital before opening his own centre for the best of all of us and his. If you want a doctor just to do basic care, cough and cold stuff, then most will do, but if you want a true quality with fantastic manner, the children and us mothers love, then he is the one. by the way he is native english speaker too and is fully fledged consultant in England (very hard to get that position in England).. we feel rather lucky to have him here and many many of our friends go to see him. you can find his clinic in dubai health care city. number 043612404 and on the website is www.uaechildren.com Also read other parents reviews of him on www.silla.ae hope this helps.

Can't recommend Dr Talal enough. He takes his time with both DD and us. He is thorough and does not rush towards medication or intervention without thorough discussion. Has been a god send for our family that is for sure. He was at City and then this year has gone out on own - we followed him without hesitation. His website is http://www.uaechildren.com/

Just remembered the pediatric surgeon. I hope you won't have to go this route but he's highly recommended. Dr. Wasfi Jaouni. His clinic is next to DCC and he has surgeries out of city hospital and I believe a few others. Can you please tell me what was the cost of the suregery at the clinic ? Also was it covered in insurance ?

I reecently saw Dr Hana at DM Med Centre and really liked her. She trained in the UK and worked in Ireland for a long time. She is a good listener and doesn't prescribe drugs unnecessarily.

Dr Keith Nicholl is really good, he's really thorough and our kids are really happy to see him. I really wouldn't recommend Dr Shola, have had a few bad experiences with her personally and know of friends who have also had bad experiences with her.

Dr Yasser at American hospital, he is so kind and reassuring, no such thing as a silly question - really lovely. One to avoid is the ranches - gave me no faith at all!

my kids love dr. loubser. I'm going share a few stories that will help ease your mind. First I imagine its the belly button hernia. A few of my friends were told its quite common and that by one it should be gone. Hernia is usually caused by the crying and if she has colic that would be why. One of my friends' DS had hernia when he was born... quite servere from my view point. It went away on its own. Another friends' DD just had surgery at 3 for her's since they wanted her to be a little older. My DS had something different. He had a hydrocele in his testicle. His needed surgery. We left it til he was 3 because a hydrocele comes and goes and we actually thought it went away. With him he actually had an area that didn't close properly and if it wasn't fixed then it would lead to hernia or something else. If it ends up that she does require surgery (I would get second/third opinions, ultrasounds etc first) definitely get the surgeon near Deira City Centre. I can't remember his name but I got his name off of the ladies on here. He was wonderful with DS and you cannot even see his scar and he had the surgery in November.

i've been takin my DD to Dr. Samitha Rajkumar at Unicare Medical Centre in Burjuman... initially went there for the convenience and coz she came highly recommended... and now sticking there coz i think she's awesome... very approachable (even for the silliest of all questions)... replies to sms/calls etc... and doesnt recommend unwanted medication unless it's really called for... she also has excellent bedside manner with kids so makes it all the more easier

Dr. Keith Nicholl. He has been DD's doctor since she was 2 months. They don't do direct billing with the insurance though. So you have to pay first and claim. http://www.keithnicholl.com/

I recommend Dr Shola at Dubai London clinic and Dr Khan at Coopers Clinic, my DD too has a hernia she is 2months now and both doctors told me not to worry about as it will go on its own by the time she is 3yrs or so, if it doesnt thats when I can think of surgery if i want.
