you are right kiwispiers with bigger baby chances of normal delievery are very less ( although my baby is right size at the moment). I am not trying to loose weight just have to control it so the scale is same on my next visit to doc :) fruits are a big part of my diet daily and still are. only i have to control on junk food and sweets.

at this point I wouldn't do anything drastic, just cut out junk food completely and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. gaining all that extra weight can make your baby bigger which can make delivery harder (which is why Drs stress about it) but you need to nourish your baby so don't try to lose weight or stop gaining at this point.

I forgot to add an important point: Don't stress too much about the excess weight. It will come off again. I gained a ton and one year after delivery it was back to where I'd started, and if I'd been a bit more disciplined during that time it would"ve gone down even more ( I was overweight when I first became pregnant). This doesn"t mean not to watch out now, but don"t stress too much. eating healthy food is a lot more important now. Some doctors nowerdays like to obsess about weight.

thanks everybody...i was fitness conscious before pregnancy. going to gym atlest 5-6 times a week and eating healthy...with pregnancy due to loads of nausea for 4 months i swapped white bread instead of multigrain. just eating toasted bread without any spread or butter use to help me a little with the nausea. as for fitness due to a miscarriage 3 months back(before concieving) i was more careful this time and due to some medical issues couldn't even walk.so life was completeky sedentary. still walking is very painful but i have started walking irrespectively....

Pregnancy is not the time to start a diet. 18 KG is a bit much weight gain but ou shouldn't start starving yourself now. And if you have heartburn salad might not be the right answer as last meal of the day. what helps with heeartburn is to eat little meals frequently instead of three big meals. Your growing baby is pushing against your stomach and so if the stomach is too full you will get heartburn. As for dieting: I would recommend to make a list of what you normally eat throughout the day and see where you can try to swap for healthier options, including more fruit instead of sweets, choosing wholegrains instaid of refined products ( rice, pasta, bread), snacking on vegetable sticks with a little yogurt to dip, chosing lowfat dairy products over full fat and to switch to water instead of sugary drinks and juices. And drink plenty of water to prevent fluid retention. Another part of preventing too much weight is to stay active. Have you been exercising during your pregnancy? If not maybe you could start with taking a walk every evening or morning, nothing too strenious, now is also not the time to begin with vigorous exercise routines, but a little walking or swimming might do you good.Other than that I wouldn't worry too much , just see that it doesn"t increase too much as you still have 2 months until delivery . I am speaking from experience as I gained too much during my first pregnancy and was absolutly sedentary then and it was really uncomfortable the last few weeks and I am sure I would have been a lot fitter for the delivery if I hadn"t eaten everything in sight and got my behind off the couch a bit....and heartburn does get worse the more weight you put on.

I have an app on my phone called my fitness pal where you can put in all the foods i eat and i restrict myself to 1500 a day plus i exercise 3 times a week for 45 minutes. You should never just eat salad. I healthy diet made up of all the food groups wil be sufficent plus exercise in any form even if it is only walking leisurly etc. Try the app or Google it online Today i have eaten Porridge and honey for breakfast fruit salad for mid morning snack Jamie Olivers homemade veg soup for dinner 2 finger kitkat Dinner will be baked cod, weight watchers oven chips ( they are my fave by far) and garden peas For supper if i get a little hungry i will have some rice cakes or ryvita with cottage cheese After eating all the above i still have calories left over and i am at the gym tonight Try googling Weight Watchers or Slimming World stay away from the faddy diets that make you lost 6 stone ( and gain it back in a week) Fill up with low GI food, brown bread, brown rice etc :-)
