Ive been waking up to bite marks over my body for the past two weeks and I suspect we might have bed bugs...Hope not but the bite marks are super itchy. I just caught a small miniscule round thing. Its as big as a needle pin on my arm. Is that a bed bug or is it something else?

I emptied the room...threw quilt etc in the bin. They can spray the bed and all furniture they did this 3 times but after the second I got bit again so I threw all the bed mattress etc away so the room was empty. I thought the bed stunk after they sprayed it and I wouldn't have been able to sleep in it anyway. We moved out of the room while it was going on. They need to spray 3 times once a week if I remember right. Never seen a peep since and I am paranoid, I bought a metal bed etc so they can't climb up and never put any suitcases in the room !

Bed bugs are nocturnal, during the day they hide. The body of a bed bug is quite flat and they can hide anywhere. You can pick up bed bugs anywhere... in taxis, when you travel they can get in your suitcase etc.etc. then they lay eggs and you end up with an infested home. Eeekkkk! If you can identify where in the home you are getting bitten then they are more than likely hiding in that area. The bites are usually in a line and if you are allergic they are very very itchy. Best to call a good pest control company. A few years ago I stayed in a 5 star hotel here in Dubai and had loads of bites on my body, I called room service and told them there was obviously something in the room.... it turned out that the sofa was infested with bed bugs UUUUUggghhhh!.

I also had none on the bed they were in the box bit of the base, only ever found 7 but that was bad enough. There was also one behind a pictu on the wall. I ended up throwing bed etc away and buying new bedroom furniture quilt everything . I am super paranoid now and check every day! I had national pest come to spray.

strip your bed and check the mattress; usually in the seams or if you have a mattress with air holes in it, probably will be inside. Ive done that. Theres nothing. We have a latex mattress too. Ugh! Maybe it was just one? Have been looking for black pepper like drops on my white linen but there is also nothing. Will just have to keep looking.

Bedbugs are dark brown, almost black and the most popular description for them is a resemblance to apple seeds. Same size, same color, same shape. If you have tiny black specks the size of pinheads you may actually have fleas. Do you have pets?

Well after doing some googling it looks very much like an infant chigger. First time I have heard of such a thing...
