Does anyone know what time Malls like Ibn Battuta open their doors? I am wondering how to keep my kids exercising with the heat and was thinking we could head there and do laps on power wings before the shops open... like at 8 or 9am... I do that too in summer but sometimes you get told off by the security guards. I think Battuta opens around 8 because of Geant. Bowling is good exercise for the kids too Ahh well, might make them go faster *sniggger*. Good idea, we have some bowling vouchers. Will be sure to use them! I wish there was a roller-skating rink in Dubai. Not so keen about ice-skating.

Depending on ages, children's city at creek park is wonderful. Like a massive, fully functioning science museum. http://www.childrencity.ae/CHCITY

OP, a very warm welcome to Dubai :) there are lots of things for kids to do over the summer. Summer Surprises will run from 14th Jun - 14th July so be sure to check out the events that are organised by them. Children's City is really good value, at 15 AED it is an interactive science centre with loads of different areas. (Environment, Space, etc). There is a malik burger inside too so you can easily while away a few hours and have lunch. It is located inside Creek park near Wafi.

If you like learning languages, I would highly recommend learning French at Alliance Francaise in dxb. My cousin learnt French there two years ago and she loved the kind of work and assignments that they had. They have a great library where children can check out movies and books in French - I remember her watching Cinderella in French as part of her homework!

I am a school school counselor and I can recommend brain training (I did it with my own son last year) if you are looking for enhancement/ enrichment activities over the summer. It is not a camp, it is 1 hour a day working on the 7 key areas that make up intelligence. The name of the company is the Brain & Learning. They have a good website.
