He turns 14 in a couple of days a d I'm terrible with such things and never know what to get esp. for a 14 yr old. He likes all the normal boy stuff, plays soccer and likes cricket and is a big Man U fan. In the past I've bought him Man U stuff, a swatch watch, psp games and clothing.

I wanted to try and get him something different this time but can't for the life of me come up with anything creative.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Virgin megastore have some great stuff in. Things from t shirts that light up when you talk to the 3d puzzle's that you can build of the Burj Al Arab etc.

When my son was around that age, he loved that I got him magazine subscriptions. He like the games and sports mags and, of course, they were fairly expensive to buy on a monthly basis. It's a gift that keeps on giving all year!

Thanks for the replies ladies. Joyce, I thought about a gift voucher...it just somehow feels a little impersonal...like you didnt make the effort to buy a gift. hmmm...the camping teepee sounds like a good idea. Any other suggestions please let me know. I have till the weekend to buy the gift. Thanks.

I recently bought a few new things for my nephews... Pro Swingball set Cricket nets and stumps Camping teepee It gets them out of the house, active, and they are things that can fold away nicely when not being used.

As the mother of a DS and umpteen nephews, I gave up buying actual gifts once they turned 13 (apart from my DS) I now give money or vouchers for a favourite store along with some edible goodies. Not very exciting I know but my nephews actually say that they'd prefer the dosh rather than a gift that they wouldn't really appreciate.
