Police Certificate of Good Conduct online

Having read (and saved!) a previous very helpful post about getting a police certificate for a new job, I then went online and discovered I could apply for it online. However, when it came to submitting the form, it told me I had to report to a police station anyway for fingerprinting or to show my ID card, and then it wouldn't accept my payment either! So all rather pointless IMHO! My question though is has anyone else hit the same hurdles? When I go down to the police station, can I take with me a print out of the form (I have a reference number so my application is "in the system") and will the fact that I've submitted all my paperwork electronically speed up the process, or will I need to start all over again?

Thanks for this new info Busybee87. As my employer is a school in the UK so that could be interesting!

I applied online and was asked to fill the form again at the police station. They will not take your fingerprints if you already have an Emirates Id (since the system will have them already). I got mine done at the Jabel Ali Police Station. Make sure you note down and take the name of the requestor of the certificate (Your Company in this case) in Arabic. They asked me for it and I showed it to them on my cell phone.

Thanks hilsbils, that's exactly where I intend to head - it was my original plan based on the other thread and I wish I hadn't over complicated it now by applying on line! I think I'll just take all the supporting documentation as if I was applying for it there and then. Not really sure that paperless online hassle free applications for anything have hit the UAE yet!

Ah not sure..... but the guys at the main police station (port Rashid - in previous thread) were surprisingly organised and helpful so perhaps go directly to them rather than a local station. Good luck
