My neck and back can't handle them anymore. I hate them! They ooze out of 40dds.... I am sick of them!

Can't afford a reduction, wondering if i can do it through insurance for medical reasons. Anyone done this before?

MISoMa, sometimes when I read your posts, I think one of my sisters has set up this account and is writing pretending to be me! The american Tv, Noise and now this. Just a couple of days ago I told my sister, one of these days my poor back and shoulder will start charging the ladies transportation fees! My back and neck are done too! I. Canada MSP covered breast reduction for medical problems, dont know wabout the private insurance companies here. Our insuarnce is with EK, so I am sure there is no chance there! A couple of years ago a freind told me about bravissimo, but how can we get fitted for this in dubai?

Some 6 years back, I was struggling to find bras that fitted. The best fit I found was 38DD because it fit me in the cups. But the strap would be at my shoulder blades and my boobs would be at my waist. I cannot begin to tell you of the misery, I felt like I had no waist, I was malformed. Years were spent in misery. THEN, once while looking for an exercise bra for big boobs I found Bravissimo. I can tell you hand on my heart, Bravissimo changed my life! I turned out to be 32GG. What did that do for me? I found I not only have a waist, I am a gorgeous hourglass. This is not to boast, but to tell you that a well fitted bra can make you see your body the way you have never seen it before and most of all, value what you have. A few months later, I went down to 30GG which I still am. When I lost weight some time back, I went down to 28GG. In some brands like Cleo by Panache I am a 28H. For years I was miserable and even though I would accept how I was, I was acutely aware of how I looked to people. And I hated it. Not my body, but the fact that I couldn't do anything about it. Till I found Bravissimo. TDK would be the place to start. There are several online stores apart from Bravissimo that sell UK brands like Panache, Freya, Fantasie and Curvy Kate and some are very cheap. I buy them online as I find TDK significantly expensive. Good luck OP. Don't despair because help is well nigh. :-) edited by Chocobella on 02/10/2012

Another vote for getting correctly fitted!! It makes a WORLD of difference...even if just in the short term, until you can fully investigate other options.

In France, you can go through medicals if you have back and neck pain. Now.... I did reduce mines a few years ago. Was very happy to go from a g cup to a d cup.....and I'm now back to a f cup. Yes, they grew back !!! My doctor did mention that is can happen, saying one of his clients was 32 when it happen. I was younger at that time. It's indeed a bit painful and leave scars vertically on your breasts for long years. But I was very happy when I did it. It is less heavy that a breast reduction because cancer. I would highly suggest to do a therapy before you do the reduction if you decide to go for it. To be sure that it's totally ok with you to have them reduce - it would avoid a regrow later on. I am doing auto-hypnosis to reduce them now, and it worked quite well. I lost a cup already. Mind you, it goes with a generally lost of weight ! But usually, I first take weight in this area, and don't loose any when I'm loosing weight ..and I hated it ! This time, at least, I keep the same general shape :) And as other mentionned already : Good bras make a huge difference - pain and shape. We are lucky now to have TBK in Dubai, they are fantastic. :D Edited to correct some bizarre words gone through autocorrection.... edited by Tiki on 02/10/2012

Beebers I also took my daughter who was "fitted" in another store and was supposedly a 34 D..... NO SHE WASN"T... she is a 32 F.... and is Ecstatic about her lovely comfortable new bras... Yes my whole shopping experience for 1 day ended up being 6 bras and 2 pair of knickers and we were both really happy !! 1 comment, allow plenty of time, because once you find a bra that fits, you want to keep trying on all the bras.

Sage & Onion, thank you very much for your recommendation - I hadn't realised anywhere in Dubai specialised in this. I'm off to stock up & look at their swimwear too...

Being quite well endowed myself, I can't stress the difference wearing a well fitting bra can make. If you are bursting out of a 40dd, then you are most likely wearing the wrong size bra. I used to think i was a 36dd, but on being measured properly found out that I'm a 32g and the bras I wear now give me a lot more support (and shape) and distribute the weight properly across my narrow shoulders. I don't want to make light of the pain you are obviously experiencing, but maybe it's worth a shot getting measured before you resort to surgery. FFx

I have a similar problem trying to get bras that fit and have found a company that works brilliantly for me - it is on-line and called Bravissimo. They explain how to measure yourself properly and they provide a large range of bras with large cup sizes. Maybe they will work for you. It is certainly nicer to measure and shop from your laptop than traipse round hundreds of shops who all just do standard size bras. Good luck.

Having recently seen my mum go through a painful masectomy due to breast cancer, you wouldn't want to chop them off..believe me.

Insurance pays for a reduction if you can prove there are back/pain problems. Or so I have heard/read. Most don't any more ? No, it seems they don't! :( I have a friend struggling with this at the mo and she is miserable.

I sooooo feel your pain! Have thought about having reduction done....then cringe. I find even when I lose weight I can't find a bra to fit properly....think trapped inside a change room and tried on at least 50 (ok...not in one store but in one day!) Really like to know who they make these bras for!! Saving grace when shopping though is trying on the "cone" ones (you know the ones I mean) and having a good laugh!!! AND...would like a BRA not a HARNESS!! Sorry for the rant and hijack! Good luck!

Perhaps you should call and ask them. Also, finding a specialist for this kind of procedure is a must (I know you're not doing it for cosmetic reasons but breast reduction is actually said to be much more complicated than augmentation).

Surely if they are causing you back & neck problems you could get a reduction as a medical requirement & therefore on insurance? Sounds like you need to find a sympathetic doctor who is willing to support your case (no pun intended). Sorry I can't recommend anyone as I suffer from the exact opposite! Good luck x
