Can she not stay with a friend or neighbour to visit?? How long would she be staying for? Hardly seems fair on the cat to get rid of it for a visit that may only be a few times a year...
Sadly I don't think you will have much luck this time of year, but try Dubizzle. Is having him go stay with friends temporarily an option? Even if you re-home him, you would still need to clean the house before your mum comes to stay.
and it takes ages - when we moved into our villa the previous owners had had cats which my husband and son are allergic to - took weeks and weeks of cleaning before their reactions stopped...
