Hello! Does anyone have any recent experience of getting a mortgage to buy a home in the UK, whilst living here? We are thinking of buying somewhere back home, but don't know where to start. Appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance!

We got ours through a bank in Hong Kong. There were some funny rules because we're expats and we had to have a much larger deposit than usual. Good luck

I used Stuart at Liquid Expat Mortgages...he is a broker specilaising in this. There was a charge but it saved the hassle of dealing directly with the banks! http://www.liquidexpatmortgages.com/?gclid=CJyHiMWNmrcCFQYd3god-iEAAA

Thanks Bella. Will start emailing the big offshore banks.

Yep, you will porably need a mortgage with an 'offshore bank' that is used to dealing with expats (Jersey etc.) Try Barclays offshore.
