I buy nail polish in Naïf Souq that actually peels off easily before pray, then just reapply it. It takes the usual time to dry, same color range, and is convenient. It won't come off, however, if you carefully wash your hands.

I opted for children's nailpolish instead - just washes away with water - the brand is called 'snails' - love it Nannos - Is this brand (Snails) available in Dubai? Yes Busybee87 - you can find this brand at Town Center Jumeirah DBabies ground floor

Hey guys any comments on the Islamic nail polish ....are u guys gonna use and pray with it cos I believe one islamic scholar has approved of it ...but still wondering I really like the idea of it, but it hasn't been deemed "Islamic" as such. It's only the founder of the company, Inglot, (who recently passed away), who was hoping to get it "halal-certified" but an authority in South Africa. Research is still underway, so until then, it's better not to have it on while doing wudhu. Whatever you decide, is between you and Allah :).

I would not recommend it, and I don't really like the fact that people are calling it halal nail polish. There was one Imam in the USA who did his research with a piece of coffee filter paper, but he clearly said to do your own research. The nail polish I read about it only permeable and comes off after 4 minutes of submerging of the hands under water. So it does not allow you do make ablution with it. However I am not a scholar and can give only my own opinion. But the fact that there is only 1 person who said it was ok, makes it enough for me not to follow it, there really needs to be a consensus. And at the end of the day, -and I know lot of women have their own opinion on this-, nail polish is something that attracts the attention just like heavy make up does, so in my opinion best not to do it. And most important of all, it is not worth risking the validity of your ablution, which will affect the validity of your prayer. edited by Marroosh on 19/05/2013

I've actually been dying to try it but didn't wanna risk it in case it came out later that it's all bogus. Haven't heard any scholars opinion on the matter either. Do you know which scholar approved it? The brand is Inglot, right?
