Yes but can't believe she'd do a runner without her passport would, she? lol offcourse she would. My absconder did just that, we terminated her, she was all sweet and lovely, went to say bye to family, never saw her again other then a call to blackmail us for money. This is what they do (and by 'they' I mean the ones who abscond).

just to clarify, you can do the entire cancelation at airport Victoria, thats why the office is there, if they are busy it could take an hour, but like I said, they are very accommodating and helpful, if her flight is ages away they are able to keep her there also (mean I know, but this is what they are there for, emergency situations like this). edit to add, for anyone else with issues, if you bring a maid in through an agency they would normally deal with all this if its within the first 2-3 months. edited by Purple on 22/05/2013 I wasn't aware it could all be done at the airport, makes it much easier you are not supposed to for contracts that end ' normally ', imagine if we all did it there, lol. But they dont ask really so I guess anyone can do it there.

Your husbands employer is talking rubbish. I have done this a few months ago, go to a typing centre/immigration (bin sougat will be very busy maybe try jafilliya) with her passport, dh passport and visa papers ask for her visa to be cancelled. You then have 30 days to send her home. I think it is very unlikely you could get her on a flight tonight, it will take a while at immigration so probably best to book a flight for tomorrow. When you go to the airport check her in as usual, then at security explain it is a cancelled visa and your dh will have to walk through to get some paperwork stamped. A few days later take that stamped paperwork to immigration at Jaffiliya and get your 2000 deposit back. No way would I pay her any money owed, put it toward the price of the ticket (that is what I did), nobody asked her if she was owed any money and I honestly think they would have just told her to be quiet if she had tried to complain about it. You are already out of pocket on a wasted visa, it is her own doing and you should not feel bad for her. She sounds awful, it is a horrible experience for you but will all be over in a few days.

Immigration office just before passport control, they are very very helpful. You can even leave the maid there and they will make sure she goes through. Good luck.

Where do we go on arrival at airport? Check in/immigration? I don't see why she is liable for the flight when we have told her to go. She is not leaving of her own accord, though she is ok with going.

Don't pay her anything. Her salary must be her ticket home. Make sure you have her salary signed slips with you at the airport incase she tries it on. And make sure that you pack her suitcase.

Give yourself 4 hours, also she is liable for the flight home as she has breached the contract, but..... for simplicity I would not pay her this months salary and use it as payment for the ticket. make sure you get a copy of the cancellation paper and you will need to go back and get the exit paper so that you can clain your deposit back.

Thanks Birchy. How long does the whole procedure take at the airport? Don't want to book ticket for 3 hours from now then find we don't have enough time. What do we do when we get to the airport? The maid has agreed to go and doesn't mind going home. What are we liable for financially? Contract says ticket and a months salary. Is the months pay on top of whatever we owe her for May?

Apologies for posting this on the general forum, but wanted reawaken sure we get a quick response. Can some one help us urgently with the process for sending a maid home? We want to do this ASAP, literally today/tomorrow if we can. maids behaviour (as some will know from my thread on the maids forum) unacceptable and now deteriorated to the point where I have told her she has to go as I cannot tolerate her behaviour. I am too shaken up by todays developments to try and wade through all the previous posts and work it out! My husbands employer says we can't legally send her home and she has to have a months notice and can then stay in Dubai a further month after that. If we want to put her on a flight immediately how do we get a visa cancellation form? Can we just get one at the airport? Info in the FAQ says we need to get that before and take it to the airport. Would really appreciate your help ladies. Very simple your husband is the sponsor, take her to the airport make a cancellation at the airport, bye bye. Otherwise he can go to bin sougat and make the cancellation there. edited by Birchy on 22/05/2013 edited by Birchy on 22/05/2013
