Review: 5 Delicious Reasons Why You'll Love Yalumba Seafood Night

I love seafood, it's one of the things that my mum and I share in common. So when she arrived in Dubai last week, I immediately thought of treating her to a seafood buffet.

We ended up at Yalumba which is housed at the iconic Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre. As the place is conveniently located along Airport Road, Garhoud, it didn't take long for us to find it.
5 Delicious Reasons Why You'll Love Yalumba
With it's friendly and casual atmosphere, it would suffice to say that we had an amazing time reliving my childhood memories while relishing on the sumptuous seafood meal.

Yalumba truly lived up to its reputation as the favourite destination for residents and tourists alike and let me tell you 5 delicious reasons why!

Friendly and Casual Environment

As we entered the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was the relaxing atmosphere, the place was spacious and could easily accommodate a lot of diners. After the friendly staff confirmed our reservation she immediately ushered us to our table which had a great view of the seafood spread we were about to devour!

Unending Array of  Fresh Seafood

Without further delay, I went ahead and inspected the counter where the mouth-watering seafood was neatly arranged. From lobsters to shrimps, there were many options to choose from, being a self-confessed seafoodholic it is a must that I fill my plate with all the fresh sea bounties that it could possibly accommodate. I started with the lobster, it was succulent and tender, I also sampled the tender octopus terrine and the tasty salmon, but the highlight was the fresh oysters, with a squeeze of lemon and a drop of tabasco sauce - the oyster is pure delight!

Unique Blend of Flavours from East to West

Yalumba offers a wide range of notable international cuisine, from tandoori to fish curries, from sushi to dim sum, the choice is yours. I opted to go for the dim sum and dumplings as I was immediately drawn to the mesmerising aroma coming from the wooden steamer, beckoning me to have a go at this pieces of Shangrila. The Chinese dish didn't disappoint, the colour, aroma and taste were definitely oriental, the bite-size meal was so soft and flavourful,  I would have another go if I didn't notice the buzzing crowd dining in the open air.

Open Air Dining and Grill Stations

Curious, I went out to see what's the buzz was all about. As I stepped outside,  I noticed a scent similar to an ocean breeze coming from the seafood being grilled on the nearby station,  and if I didn't know any better I would have thought that I was suddenly teleported to the beach. I noticed several patrons taking advantage of the winter breeze, apparently, you can choose from the fresh seafood and have them grilled for your enjoyment at the live cooking stations.

Sea of Desserts

Of course, an evening meal wouldn't be complete without dessert, and Yalumba doesn't fall short when it comes to their offerings, they have a sea of desserts where you can have a feast to your heart's (or tongue's) content! I sampled their lemon meringue tarts, chocolate coconut lollipops, strawberry vanilla mousse and vanilla choux. The pastries have the right amount of sweetness and they literally melt in your mouth with every bite. Sadly, our gastronomical journey in Yalumba's ocean of seafood came to an end, however, I now have 5 delicious reasons to go back!
