Thanks for the feedback, but that is not what I am looking for. The forum used to have a specific search bar for the forum only. I do not find that anymore.....
I have been looking for the same! This new website design is so frustrating. It is making me visit this site less and less. So many people I know have stopped visiting EW. Such a shame because it used to be such a helpful site but now the forum is hardly active.

What sort of renovations?
Hi sarahlou123, looking for contractors to do a new kitchen fit out, floors, staircase, possibly bathrooms too. Any recommendations?

Yes - been through the same and the pap smear eventually came out normal. Don't worry - just reschedule a pap smear in 6 months as the doctor suggested.

I completely agree with the posts above - the text is massive! It has actually made me stop visiting the site as often as I used to. Not liking the new changes at all. I've been using EW for 7 years now but this site update is really a turn off :(

Thanks BlueSkySun. I think GEMS schools only offer sibling discounts for 4 kids or more. I would be very grateful if people can share which schools here offer discounts for 2 or more kids. Thanks!

Hi Zoyee1, We have had a wonderful experience with DAA over the past few years. To address your concern regarding bullying, the school has a strong 'culture of kindness' that students are encouraged to follow. The parent-teacher communication is always open and the school counsellors also provide a very nurturing environment. I personally know of one family who moved their child to DAA from another renowned British school after a similar experience of bullying there and that child is now happy and settled (in Elementary school). I agree with Silvstet that the school looks tired despite being one of the most expensive ones in town. This is a complaint that a lot of parents have about DAA - we would like to see more upgrades done on campus. However, just because a school looks new, doesn't mean the education is better. I suggest you take a tour of the school to get a feel for the environment there and follow your gut feeling. Good luck!

Hi ladies, Was wondering if any of you have visited Legoland yet and if so, how did you find it? We have been to other Legolands but not this one yet. Is there a good variety of dining options? Any feedback would be welcome! Thanks in advance :)

Fit Republik and Fitness First are both at the Ranches and do classes Thanks sarahlou123. Fit Republik and Fitness First are actually in Sports City and Motor City but they might be my best bet since they are the closest gyms.

Thank you SO much for all the recommendations! Would a week in Salzburg be enough as it seems there are a few day trips we can take if we base ourselves out of there? And how many days would be sufficient for Innsbruck? I was thinking we can stay there for a few nights and plan day trips to other areas in Tyrol as well. Has anyone visited Lienz? Is it worth adding to the itinerary? For those of you who might have traveled on to Munich or Zurich or Italy from Austria by road, was it fairly easy - as in are there border checkpoints that might cause delays? Again, thank you for all the info! :)

35dhs is too much! These rates are delivery from UAE to the UAE: [b'>Parzel[/b'> = 14dhs (I use them often, they are very reliable) parzel.ae [b'>Skynet[/b'> = 18dhs [b'>Aramex [/b'>= 22dhs Thank you SO much!! I will look into all these options! Much appreciated :)

I would think that everything is available here, however perhaps certain toiletries/creams/cosmetics that you use might be either over-priced here or sometimes out of stock.

If you don't mind buying pre-owned items, there's www.dubizzle.com Depending on your budget, there is quite a range of furniture stores here: Ikea, Pottery Barn, Home Center, Homes R Us etc. Electronics can be bought at Sharaf DG or Carrefour

You can take the books to House of Prose. It's a second hand book shop. Or find someone who has a table at one of the flea markets and get them to sell them for you. Does House of Prose buy second hand books?

Thanks for the reply, seasand. It's mentioned in this month's Time Out Kids magazine (page 4) which is why I was wondering :) As for the kids riding their bikes in the running lanes - yes I have noticed that too. It's such a shame that they are not being stricter about this. The park gets very busy during the evenings and it's a common sight.

A lot depends on your budget. All of the communities in the ranches are lovely with nice pools and parks. The villas range from 2 bedroom townhouses to 6-7 bedroom villas. Arabian Ranches 2 is the newest phase but not as developed yet.

I also recommend the Gardens by the Bay show at night. There is lots to do on Sentosa Island, apart from Universal Studios, so you can pick what suits your family best. My kids loved the insect and butterfly park there. You can also take a cable car from Mt. Faber to Sentosa Island - lovely views. Have fun! Singapore is a lovely holiday destination :) edited by carymama on 03/03/2015

I have just booked the Westin with a last night at the Raffles. Has anyone done Universal Studios if so how many days for it? I was thinking two days. Any other advice are most appreciated. One full day is perfect for Universal Studios. We reached there at 10am ( I think that's when it opens) and stayed until late evening. You can buy tickets online in advance to avoid lining up :)

I would agree with barlas that 90% of DAA's teachers are North American. In our 4 years at the school, all the teachers have been American or Canadian (except Arab for Arabic/Islamic Studies). It's a shame that the facilities look a bit run down considering how high the fees is. Yes, the school has more of an international student mix compared to ASD. Both DAA and ASD have a very good reputation.
