I'd like to do a yoga, weightloss/fast retreat in India sometime soon. Can someone recommend some options. There are so many choices on the internet but I'd rather some feedback from someone who's been there done that!

TIA

ya, perhaps weightloss was the wrong word as I dont really need to lose weight - on the lower end of my range and exercise daily. I'm looking more for a detox/cleanse where your body expells about 10lbs of mucus and other grose stuff in your colans that are "stuck" where they also incorporate yoga, meditation, and a wholistic lifestyle for a 7 day, 14 day cycle. They are quite common in both India and Thailand and I did find an earlier thread which offered numerous recommendations in Thailand but was keen to do India as its so close. Cheap hotel, not looking to have the runs but rather a proper detox :) Thanks Maple for the recommendation.

I think if you are looking to just get away, detoxify and learn some aasanans, then go for it.

My Dad had stayed at Jindal NatureCure Institute, near Bangalore (South India)long time back. He lost a lot of weight during his time there but also put it back on once he returned home. However he learnt Yoga and still does his breathing exercises etc every morning so it did benefit him in that sense. He has talked about it being tough with the regimen while you are there but he enjoyed it. Hope that helps.

Just check in to a cheapish hotel and you should loose weight ;-).
