A camels toe is when your trousers is too tight and you can see (very well!) the shape of your bits in the front. I have learned this on here, and really(embarrased!!!)i went to the bathroom, pulled my trousers really high up my waist to have a look, low and behold it does look like a camels toe!!!!!(lol, blushing etc) The 'Whale tail' is also a new one to me. Thanks ladies, learning a lot on here:)) Hahahaha :D Same here, I am so enjoying these new terms.. -------> 2 new words added in: *camel toes* and *whale tail*... :)

Had to Google it: Whale tail is the Y-shaped waistband of a thong or g-string when visible above the waistline of low-rise jeans, shorts, or a skirt that resembles a whale's tail. Intentionally or unintentionally, a whale tail is exposed above the trousers mostly when sitting or bending, or even while standing... :\: And so is that the same as a camel's toe? I would never have guessed this!!!!

I have said things many times in the past. In a situation such as this, I would be very polite and hope that she did not know. However, when I am standing behind someone whose rear end is literally hanging out of their shorts with their [b'>whale tail [/b'>on show underneath -- I have little patience and don't hold my words well -- much to my children's embarassment. No matter what anyone says, they do know better but choose to ignore it. I know it is hard to believe, but I am an extremely tolerant person but "blatancy" is not something that goes down well. What is a "whale tail" ? I am presuming it is "camel toe" seen from the back? Genuine question as I have never heard this before. Great question - I was too embarrassed to ask what this is ..... So, what is it?

If your dress was totally see through, and someone can see your undies and your cheeks? This is a genuine question, not intended for a TNT really. I saw a woman in a dress that was really transparent, and I was able to see it all when she was in front of me on the escalator. I was close to going up to her and inform her lol, but then she might get really P-ed off, or might know and be happy about it so I left it. Would you have mentioned it to her? I'm just curious how others think about it, I would want to know if I have any hair or skin showing, but maybe others won't appreciate it? No, I wouldn't mention it to her I'd mind my own business - chances are she knows it anyway !! I would never comment on something like this to a stranger, nor would I appreciate a stranger making a comment to me !!

Right, she may be doing it intentionally, however, you can only deal with the objective facts and cannot second guess what her intentions are. On the other hand you are a nice person who wants to help. Knowing that this type of appearance may be perceived as inappropriate in public, and giving her the benefit of the doubt, you can assume she is dressed this way unintentionally. So if you really want to help, you would tell her and risk making her upset. On the other hand, there is not much she can do about it right there, so why tell her? Agreed. Be prepared for any form of response though:P

Interesting responses ladies thanks:) I think it's not easy to determine whether so speak up of back off lol! The rule of thumb I have been taught is to let the person know if there is something that can be done on the spot to remedy it. For example, the unbuttoned buttons, or a piece of toilet paper stuck under one's shoe, or the skirt tucked into knickers scenario. If it is something that can't be remedied on the spot, like a ladder in someone's stockings, then you keep your mouth shut. Well I guess it also depends on whether the person is knowingly sporting transparent stuff showing off some body parts. Then saying something might not be received well lol.

I just fail to understand Why its always written in malls*to dress decently*, when no one(the mall authorities/security) even stop or Point out those who don't get this point when they walk out to malls. And seriously, there are so shameless dressings done by some females out there in the malls that I being a woman is also embarrassed sometimes to see those *sights* ;)

I agree with you. I am offended and embarrassed when I see this when we are out, usually in the mall, especially when I have my 8 year old DD with me. Without fail, she will be the first to make a comment to me about the"sight"

Lady Diana Spencer certainly wished someone had told her: [url=http://tinyurl.com/ditrans'>link[/url'> But I think most of you are too young to know what I'm talking about :D edited by simpleasabc on 14/03/2013 I do remember that photo!!!!!!! Pretty tame by today's standards! Agreed! If that is tame by today's standards, then generally, standards are far too low. I am sure that Lady/Princess Diana was horrified when she saw that picture.

Yes definitely! This happened to me once; DH took me for dinner and I put on a new black dress. In the house lighting it looked totally opaque, but I caught sight of myself in the mirror leaving the brightly lit restaurant and it was really see through! We scarpered quickly. I think it's fine to say something, just do it with a big smile so they know it's intended in a helpful way and you aren't assuming they mean to show it all off. Some probably do but what can you say to that!

I would absolutely want to know as well. I may have been guilty of this when quite heavily pregnant with my last LO. Had a beautiful dress from Mamas & Papas, wore it once and then the 2nd time in different light, I noticed it was VERY transparent. Complete mistake!
