Tinolang Manok

Ingredients

1fl oz. vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
0.5oz. ginger, crushed
32fl oz. water
1 whole chicken, quartered
1oz. fish sauce
0.5oz. chili leaves (dahon ng sili)
1 small papaya, diced

Preparation

  • In a pot heat the oil. Add the onion, garlic and ginger and sauté
  • Add the water, making sure it is warm. Add the chicken to that
  • Bring to boil and simmer on a medium high heat for approximately 20 minutes
  • Season with the fish sauce
  • Add the papaya and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the papaya is softened
  • Add the chili leaves and remove the pot from the heat
  • Serve with plain rice.
