Review: Cucina - The Italian Kitchen at West Palm Beach Dubai

Whether it's handmade pastas or fresh-out-of-the-oven pizzas, we can agree: Italian food is simply delicious.
Dubai itself is home to a number of fantastic Italian restaurants, ranging from the casual red-sauce joints perfect for family celebrations to ones fit for a romantic date night.
Cucina - The Italian Kitchen, located in Dubai's hotspot the West Palm Beach, is everything you want in a casual neighbourhood Italian joint — standout food with clear attention to quality ingredients, flattering lighting, family friendly dining, live cooking seating, lovely interiors, and great service.

The Restaurant
Cucina is warm and inviting, with wooden accents, a unique layout with charming décor, and an open kitchen along with a private dining room. The restaurant has its own pasta room where they expertly prepare house-made pasta and a monthly changing menu, with something always new to try.
The Food
The dining concept at Cucina is a combination of sharing platters or, if dining alone, individual offerings. Our waiter Xabiso was a delight and extremely knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and what to expect.
We opted to share the burrata, fresh oregano and a wide-ranging selection of succulent and flavoursome tomatoes alongside another dish - thinly sliced wagyu beef, garden lettuce, parmesan, and honey dressing with black truffle. Both dishes were utterly delicious and a great start to our meal.
The main courses were both highly recommended by Xabiso and they certainly did not disappoint - Cucina's cooking has breadth and depth at once.
Their handcrafted, naturally sweetened Cucina Sodas are a standout.
Again, we decided to go with what our wonderful waiter had suggested and shared the roast pork filled ravioli, which was perfectly cooked with thyme butter, pork jus, porcini powder and green oil which tasted delectable.
Our second dish were freshly grilled king prawns with lemon olive oil, parsley and fennel salad - a fresh and clean tasty dish.
We ended this culinary experience visiting the Gelateria where Richard kindly and expertly let us sample a selection of Gelati. Our favourites were the gorgonzola and mango sorbet which, when brought together, had the perfect combination of a cheesecake!
