Review: PH Brunch at Porterhouse Steaks & Grills in Sofitel Dubai The Palm

Situated in the fabulous Sofitel Dubai The Palm, Porterhouse Steaks & Grills offers spectacular views of Palm Jumeirah and has a prime view of the Atlantis through a spacious outdoor terrace.
Book your table for their hugely popular PH Brunch (a.k.a Prohibition Brunch), every Saturday from 1pm to 4pm, inspired by the prohibition era in the US. Enjoy a cool beverage as you unwind from the week, and you'll be transported to a 19th century era where going out drinking with friends was prohibited.
The brunch itself pays a fantastic homage to the anti-prohibition revolution in the states, and the ExpatWoman team had the opportunity to try it out. Here's how it went.
As soon we arrived at the PH Brunch, you can capture the atmosphere as we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff into a restaurant with modern elements.
Porterhouse's décor is beautifully contemporary, and the large outdoor terrace is stylishly set while a DJ plays background pop tunes to entice you into the brunch mood.
We enjoyed our brunch outdoors with a lively seating, overlooking the hotel and Palm Jumeirah beach.
My colleague and I were blown away by the food, especially the sheer volume and selection of à la carte choices, which is a favourite of mine at brunch.
A couple of standout dishes were the Asian Beef Tartare, prepared at your table making it an aromatic treat to watch.
Meat options
Getting down to the heart of Porterhouse, we enjoyed prime cuts of grain-fed beef roasted striploin which was perfectly cooked and juicy, along with some of the best Yorkshire puddings I've had at a brunch.
The beef sliders were excellent and the other meat dishes were similarly delicious. A resounding thumbs up from us.
Non-meat options
While the Porterhouse prides itself as a steak house thanks to its premium cuts of choice meat, there were also some fantastic options for non-meat eaters.
Delicious grilled prawns, Norwegian salmon, and a selection of cold salad appetizers... regardless of your preference in dishes, there's always something the menu can deliver to suit any palate.
Cheese and wine pairings
If you can possibly fit another course in, I highly recommend taking a trip to the Porterhouse's cheese room, which boasts a wonderful array of different cheeses, homemade crackers, pickles, and pairings perfect for your drinks.
Ending on a sweet note
To finish off this incredible brunch, there was a lovely selection of deserts. Classy and decadent, truly a winning end to a great brunch in Dubai.
If you are looking for a special brunching experience along Palm Jumeirah, we couldn’t recommend the Porterhouse Steaks & Grills' PH Brunch enough.
