22 Habits to Give you a Fresh Morning
So why do we always say good morning anyways?

With our sleep cut short and our alarms going off for our usual daily routine, the idea of a morning can seem far from good.

However, this can change!

There are many things that we can do to give ourselves a good night’s rest and a good morning, that will leave us refreshed and rejuvenated for the day ahead.

Remember, the morning is the foundation and the basis of your entire day.

First thing’s first, you need to kick start your night with a healthy plan for the next day, to ensure that you'll wake up on a bright and positive note.

Nightly rituals

  • Eat a light dinner: Don’t over indulge in heavy food during dinner time, as this meal can make you feel lazy and sluggish, and this feeling will likely push through to the morning.
  • Don’t drink too much fluids: Drinking an abundance of fluids shortly before bed time will disrupt your sleeping pattern, as you may need to go to the washroom several times during the night.
  • Sleep early and wake up early: The earlier you wake up, the more energised you are. Make sure to wake up early and get into the habit or getting up early in order to perform at your full potential throughout the day.
  • Plan your next day: Though a plan can change instantaneously, it is still a good idea to have a solid course of action in the back of your mind. During those final minutes in bed, before you fall asleep, try to map out the important things that you wish to accomplish for the following day.

Morning rituals

  • Wake up right away: Try not to press snooze, this will only make you more tired!
  • Get out of bed: Once your eyes are open, hop out of bed and start your morning. Don’t be tempted to jump back into bed, it’s not worth it!
  • Exercise: This is hard for many people who have early morning errands to run. However, if you do have time, try to squeeze a workout session in between, even if it’s just a morning walk, it will do your body wonders!
  • Take a shower: Nothing better to start your day than with a nice warm shower to get you awake and refreshed for the day!
  • Be ahead of schedule: Give yourself enough time to get ready, prepare your outfit for the day. Try to be 5 minutes ahead of schedule, in case anything disrupts your routine, that extra 5 minutes could come in handy and keep you punctual!
  • Don’t skip the beauty routine: When you look good, you feel good. Don’t skip your morning beauty routine, make sure to keep yourself looking sharp and fresh!
  • Good Nutrition: You’ve heard it over and over again, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and therefore, you must have a well-balanced breakfast to give you your morning boost!
  • Plan your day (again): A lot can change from the plan you had at night to the plan you have in the morning. Plan out your day accordingly and create a to-do list for the day.
  • Caffeine: Try not to drink your caffeine on an empty stomach. If you must have your coffee, at least give your body some time (an hour or so) to adjust from asleep mode to awake mode. Once your body is energized and ready for the day, then have your coffee.
  • Brain exercises: Wake your brain up with a round of Sudoku or a crossword puzzle to get your brain juices flowing!
  • Hardest goes first: Start the morning by doing the most draining and difficult task of the day, and get it out of the way. Once that’s done, you will actually have something to look forward to throughout the day, rather than dreading the whole day on this one task that you could have done earlier on.
