Thanks for all the info. Headed to Bahrain soon and am hoping I will be able to find the shower filter there although if that does not work out then I will use Aramex when I get back.

Saw a Morrocan Oil stall today at Landmark - right by Women's Secret and Vincci - cost 180 rials for quite a large bottle.....they had soaps/exfoliating gloves, etc., too.... edited by chizz on 29/10/2011

If you are talking about Moroccan Oil brand hair and skin products, they carry the full line of it at Al Nazih Beauty supply shop on Salwa road... it's in the slip right after Jarir Bookstore and directly opposite Salwa from the big Nissan Dealership. If you are talking about the actual oil- like Moroccan Argon oil, the pharmacy at Landmark carries it, they have the soap and pure oil. I use the oil on my hair and skin- it's fantastic! There is also a stand that sells it right next to the Starbucks at Landmark and it is the same stuff found in the pharmacy. I really cannot recommend it enough.

Irnbru - can you tell us where we can find Moroccan Oil here in Doha? Sorry I have no idea, only been in Doha a few days. I always get mine sent from lookfantastic.com as I do with all my hair products or get it when I am at home in UK.

Maple: just try amazon.com at this link http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/186-5293200-6002437?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=detachable+showerhead+filter&x=0&y=0 for a showerhead filter. Not sure if you have one of the fixed showerheads or a detachable one... they have both. Read some of the reviews and you will notice a lot mention the hair problem, and how the filter worked! I had the same problem as you, my hair rebelling against the water- not to mention my skin. I found that Pantene Silk and smooth shampoo and conditioner really helped against the water. Normally I couldn't use this shampoo as it was to drying back home, but here it is great and really gets the chemicals out of my hair. I tested and tried so many shampoos over the last three years and this particular Pantene (it's the green colored one) was the only one that worked. I can even let me hair air dry without looking like the bride of frakenstein. :D Good luck, let us know if you get a filter and how it works!

I had a Pure Blu filter when I lived in Abu Dhabi and it made no difference to my hair at all. Best thing I have found after trying many different hair products over the years is Moroccan Oil. Not cheap but a bottle lasts for ages.

I actually emailed Pure Blu from their website a few months back. They don't sell any of their products in Qatar, but can order off their website and they'll ship them here.

If you have seen the ''So Safe'' Filter in Carrefour, I would say that it's not very effective, as I had one in Dubai for a few years...my hair still fell out quite a lot, even though I re-charged it with salt and changed the cartridge as rec'd. Other people on the forum said that it helped them though. The ones they are always talking about on the Dubai forum are the Pure Blu and the Blu filters - and several people say they work well. I had my hair done in Dubai a few weeks ago and they had the Pure Blu in the hairdressers on display. I asked my hairdresser if she rec'd it to buy and she was brutally honest and said it hadn't really helped her. Seems some people get results while many others don't. I have asked in chemists here for them and the staff never know what I'm talking about! If I see any here..will let you know...

Has anyone been able to buy a good quality filter for the shower here? I have seen some in Lulu and C4 but they don't look too impressive. I am willing to spend the money to try to curb the hairfall and get some bounce back into my dull hair. Thanks.
