Dan Lou, I am hoping that you mean my promise to post about the recent Doha Day, which I intend to keep. If on the other hand, you mean me lurking here to do a bit of country and culture bashing and boasting about how wonderful life is back home, sadly I will not be a candidate.
And no skiting about consumption of p!g products!!
ETA yes it was the Doha Day I was referring to.

Thank you very much nice ladies for your good wishes.

Our stay in Doha has served it purpose at a time when the economy hit rock bottom. We made a life for ourselves here and met some wonderful people who we intend to keep in touch with, in the wonderful era of the internet.
DH jokes that he will need an oxygen mask + tank when he goes to fill the car at the petrol station (in UK). I will sorely miss the very low rate of crime in Qatar and many other things but not the driving and the heat. 2 weeks in UK and I will be moaning about the cold :(!
Rachel, it was great putting a face to a name who dishes out practical and useful information.
GoodMorning, thank you - it was nice chatting to you too and picking those wonderful tips for desert trips. At the end of the day, Qatar (or any other country for that matter including home) is very much what you make of it.;)
Best of luck to you Baffled!! It was lovely to meet you - too bad it was only weeks before you were leaving. Doha has its challenges, but time and again the women of EW make it easier!
Safe travels and happy adventures...:)
The time has come, just a few more days and we are off! With Qtel bill being finalised tomorrow, the internet will be disconnected until we leave, so I want to post my goodbye thread now.
Thank you EW for providing such a platform to make life that little bit easier. Many, many thanks to all of you ladies who have shared valuable information at the touch of a button, saved me from having a grand tour of Doha to find a specific item and provided some support for the odd Doha days.
You have contributed to making life in Qatar enjoyable! ;) As with any other countries where I have been an expat, there will be good memories and some bad memories. However, the good ones outweigh the bad ones by a very high percentage.
