They've changed the date.... it is indeed on Dec 1st now.... we've updated the page http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_things_to_do_UAE_National_Day_Dubai_11976.aspx UAE National Day Parade 2013 The biggest celebration for the UAE National Day in Dubai takes place at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Downtown Dubai 1 Dec 2013 If you attended last year, prepare yourself: this year will be bigger and better with a spectacular event organized for your viewing pleasure – one we are sure will make all citizens and residents of the UAE proud to call this great nation home! Schools, Government entities, Corporations, CSR associations, Bikers’ Clubs – the list goes on. We’re all part of the UAE so we should all be part of The Parade-Downtown Dubai! the parade is really good fun and your kids will love it! Fire engines, police horses, floats, cars covered with coins, lots of people dancing around etc. Really fun! It starts at Dubai Mall end goes up to the end of the boulevard, turns round and comes back. It's such a long road so plenty of space to stand right on the kerb. Really fun. VERY confused though, originally EW stated 1st Dec at 3pm, now it says 2nd Dec 3pm - Admin can you confirm? don't forget your flags! :D

I though it started at 3pm? Has it definitely been moved to Sunday? Went last year, took metro. Was surprised that compared to other events in the Uk it wasn't really very busy. Kids had a great view and spent a lot of time sat on the kerb waving their flags. We loved it.

Where do people park? Is it worth it to drive or better to take metro or taxi? Are kids able to see anything or too crowded? Thanks!
