Thanks for the post, did wonder if it really was any better because I usually believe the you get what you pay for. Sadly it seems that (like us living things) our outdoor furniture needs to be carefully nurtured inside all summer and only put out when the weather becomes nice enough to sit out in winter.
Have a look at the fab stuff made by CREU Qatar out of wood including recycled pallets .
I've not got any of there stuff myself but have solid wooden outside furniture that oiled twice annually has lasted 6 long hot years in the gulf . I think most materials have a pretty hard time in the heat so need a bit of tlc to last. Obviously there isn't anyway to preserve plastic other than covering it . The thick ugly sunloungers round our compound pool only seem to last a year but the woven ones even less.
