Dear Ladies,

planning a camping trip and would like to know:

- is it possible to pass the border with Oman without hotel reservation?
- is mid May ok or too hot?
- are there waterfalls all year round or only in cooler months?

Any other tips, many thanks!

This is near the Buraimi crossing, yes? If so, you do not need a hotel reservation to cross the border. Hotel reservations are only required at the Dibba crossing into Musandam. You will need proof of car insurance that covers you in Oman, however. Personally, I would think it's too hot to camp this time of year, but if it's higher up in the mountains you might be ok. I've never been to Wadi Madbah (or maybe I have - I've done a lot of hiking in that area - but I can't recall specifically) however I think wadis/waterfalls would be mostly dry by now. But then again, I find it too hot to hike after March or April, so I can't speak from personal experience.
