Yes, purple cauliflower, purple potatoes, berries, ube, eggplants and many other food items with the same colour palette will become mainstream this year. 
 

Food experts, critics and chefs from around the world have unanimously given their vote to purple as the super food to eat in 2017. And that’s not just because of the gorgeous eye-popping colour that looks great on Instagram. 
Purple foods like berries, eggplants, purple potatoes are packed with antioxidant content – anthocyanin. They strengthen your immune system, neutralise ageing agents and reduce the risk for high blood pressure. 
 
Now that we’ve convinced you on how good the colour purple is for your body, check out some easy ways to include it in your daily diet:
1. Toss some purple cabbage in your salads.

Raw purple cabbage not only adds a vibrant colour to your salad bowl, it also contains dietary fibre that prevents excess cholesterol from entering your bloodstream. Toss this royal vegie with lemon juice and salt for a healthy delight.

Yes, no veggie can replace the ever so popular potato, but you can, however, tweak it a bit. According to the US Department of Agriculture, purple potatoes add more than 4 times the antioxidants in comparison to regular potatoes.
