Do you hail from Africa? We've found an event you don't want to miss this November.
Introducing, African Food Festival (AFF), a Dubai-based event that aims to bring African expatriates living in the UAE together over their common love of food, Afro beats and to celebrate the motherland.
Happening on November 29 at Dubai Creek Park, this free-entry event is designed especially with the UAE's African community in mind.
AFF celebrates the continent's success on the world's stage and focuses on promoting African food, arts, and culture in the Middle East. By using food as a common denominator, AFF brings the taste of Africa to the UAE.
Event-goers will have the chance to enjoy eating competitions, cultural dancing, and fashion shows. There will also be a sack race, games truck and African drumming to enjoy.
That's not all - the event also aims to support small African artisans and crafters living here to showcase their work.
Join in the fun and feel at home by enjoying the aroma and taste of native food, shake your legs to African tunes, and enjoy seeing the colours and sights that remind you of Africa.
The event is free to attend, however, attendees will need to pay the park access fee of 5 Dhs, which is collected by Dubai Park Municipalities.
Creating an all-inclusive event
AFF was founded and is organised by 6 African expatriates who all have a passion for changing the African narrative in the Middle East. They're focused on ensuring the event delivers something truly African and is all-inclusive of Africans living in the UAE.
The event is also open to individuals of other races, to support, partake and enjoy the festivities.
