The Department of Tourism and Commerce has confirmed that Dubai will be dry from 5pm on Monday 19th November until 6pm on Tuesday 20th November.
During this time, hotels, restaurants and outlets across the city will NOT serve alcohol or host live entertainment. The dry night has been announced to respect and honour the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
There will also be a three-day weekend (for both the public and private sectors) to mark the occasion, as many will receive Sunday 18th November off work.
Therefore, Dubai’s dry night (or day) will occur one day after the holiday.
When is the next dry night in Dubai?
After the dry night on 19th to 20th November, Dubai can expect another dry occasion in the next couple of weeks.
That’s because Dubai’s next public holiday is Commemoration Day on 30th November, shortly followed by UAE National Day on 2nd December.
During this time at least one dry night can be expected, so stay tuned for holiday updates and announcements.
