Dubai’s La Mer Opens Its First Licensed Restaurant

Dubai’s newest beachfront development, La Mer, has opened its first licensed restaurant and lounge.

The Indian-inspired restaurant named Masti is a two-storey venue with an unlicensed restaurant and terrace on the ground floor, and a licensed lounge with outdoor seating upstairs.

La Mer is Dubai's latest beach and entertainment space which launched in October 2017 in Jumeirah 1. Although SALT was the newest restaurant to open at La Mer, Masti is currently the only licensed venue in La Mer.

The licensed section of the restaurant serves a variety of specialised cocktails against a picturesque backdrop of the Arabian Gulf, which opens at 5pm just in time for panoramic views of the sunset. There’s also a private gin room for those wanting a more intimate dining experience or you can listen to the sound of Masti’s resident DJ on the terrace.

The Indian-inspired global cuisine infuses both modern and traditional flavours in unique dishes created by award-winning chef Hari Nayak. There is a choice between bar bites and an a la carte menu, with the sharing plates full of global flavours from Africa, India and Peru, proving very popular.

The vibrant, funky décor adds to the atmosphere of this unique restaurant in La Mer with Instagram worthy wallpaper, printed cushions and interiors. As the kaleidoscope of Indian-inspired colours make this beachfront restaurant even more appealing.

There are plans to open more licensed venues in La Mer throughout 2018, as the beach location in Dubai has been a huge success since its opening.
