A dining spot in Dubai that transports you to a sunny Mediterranean beach day out.
Ibiza? Mykonos? Athens? Or, how about the Palm Dubai?
With boho décor and outdoor seating, the Laguna Beach Taverna & Lounge, located at Sofitel Dubai The Palm, is just like being on a summer holiday along the Mediterranean.
We had the chance to try out their Taverna Brunch which takes place every Saturday afternoon, where summery Greek vibes meets beachfront glamour and flavoursome food.
The Venue
The stunning Laguna Beach Taverna & Lounge is a splendid location for this Mediterranean brunch in Dubai. The restaurant is practically situated on the beach overlooking the Arabian sea and with gorgeous the Palm views.
All through the afternoon there was a DJ playing a selection of chilled out vibes and a fabulous dance troupe providing great live entertainment.
The Food
The starters are a sharing platter inclusive of delicious oysters, beef tartar, and arancini. They were all wonderful but our two favourite dishes which were fresh and perfect for a hot sunny day were the panzanella salad and the Greek salad.
We opted for the seafood paella, and chicken and lamb gyros for our mains which both were extremely tasty. These were complemented by fiery patatas bravas and charred cauliflower which was a great combination.
To finish this glorious afternoon of outstanding food, we had the Taste of Taverna which included a creamy and tasty chocolate namelaka, lemon olive cake, basque cheesecake, and a dreamy pavlova - all presented beautifully.
