This is the law, so they will not tell you otherwise if you ask. However, this far every place was happy to accommodate if you have your own preference. In my case, usually it happens when they tell me that there is no available appointment. Really, noone available all day? I ask surprised. Only male therapist, ma'am. She explains. Ok, book me with male therapist, I really don't mind. Ok Ma'am.

Hi. I am experienced male massage therapist for females and couple at their place, working part time as a masseuse.
If you need my services then let me know, or you can refer me to your contacts as well. Thank you

I have checked with Anantara /Waldorf /sofitel all have the same policy. I know Amara at the Park Hyatt doesn't have this policy but since we've been before would like to try some where different.
I have Shuiqi at Atlantis short listed any other suggestions much appreciated.
My husband took me to Talise spa for a couple massage last year and we both had female therapist. So, that is strange, Dessert palm do one and they allow female masseurs. Kempski on the palm also do. Shangri la on sheikh zayed road do too. As you can tell, we do lots of couple massages
If you going during the week make sure you check out week day discounts. Shangri la was my favourite, they therapist are very good and if you have a spa tx you can use the pool which has nice food and pool bar
I really wanted to try Talise :( During the week is not an option for me unfortunately but Thanks Rosie will check the others.
Thanks soo much ladies! Yes I was told that its a rule by the Dubai Muncipality but some of the hotels were making an exception as it was a couples massage but sadly not others.
Strictly speaking same gender massage is the law and hence this is the practice observed by almost all the 4 and 5 star hotels. You can either go to the likes of Dreamworks or the lower quality hotels for a lady to massage your husband.
If you having a couples massage, I would not want a man in the room while I am being massaged. So many of the 5 star allow female therapist for the couple massages, while the wife is present. Many men, feel more comfort having a relaxing massage by woman and it not in a dirty way, its just feel more natural
Annorman is right, it is the law.
I think it's quite funny that men don't want to massaged by a man, imagine if we ladies insisted on only be massaged by a man.
The male masseuses in the hotels are hardly men with a long beard, tattoos and beer bellies...

We did a couples Hammam at Zabeel Saray and had male and female masseuses, but when we went to Desert Palm for a couples day, we both had female masseuses. To be honest DH actually prefers a male masseuse as he reckons it much better for his aching muscles !!

I wonder if this is a new policy which they are all following because we did a couples massage at Anantara last year and both were female therapists.
