From microneedling to the bloody ‘vampire’ facial, the Kardashians will try almost anything in the name of beauty – and their latest skincare endeavour is no different.

Kourtney Kardashian shared a photo of her and sister Kim using a face mask that left them with droopy eyes and contorted lips.

“Kim convinced me to use this face mask and I feel stunning,” the 39-year-old jokingly captioned the photo.

What caused this strange transformation? It’s all down to a product from a Korean brand called Hanacure that’s become known as the ‘zombie mask’ because of the weird effect it has on your face.

The Hanacure Multi-Action Treatment Mask is a clear gel formula that promises to ‘dramatically transform the appearance of your skin’ by removing impurities from your pores.

It comes in two parts. To use it, you peel back the top of the square ‘gelling solution’ pot, pour in the vial of ‘purifying compound’ and shake for 20 seconds until thoroughly mixed.

Then you use the brush provided to spread the mask over your skin, avoiding the eye area.

That’s when the face contorting starts. As the mask dries and tightens, it pulls the skin and wrinkles – ironically making you look years older rather than younger.

Once you’ve rinsed off the residue and your face is back to normal, the results are said to be incredible, with fans reporting skin that looks fresh and glowing.

“It will make you look like you get eight hours of sleep and only eat organic,” wrote one user on Twitter.

It’s also said to be very effective at tackling acne when used regularly.

Kim and Kourtney aren’t the only celebs who’ve experienced the so-called #hanacureeffect.

Drew Barrymore posted on Instagram about the mask in 2017, sharing a photo showing the wrinkly effects of the mask.

“When you take it off you are 10 years younger,” she wrote alongside the picture.

“You paint it on with a brush. It starts to dry. It pulls. It gets so tight that it literally pulls your face… But, it makes you look so fresh when you wash it off. And it’s so effective.”

Want to try the ‘zombie mask’ yourself? The Hanacure All-in-One Facial Starter kit is available on Amazon, but it doesn’t come cheap. The set, which contains one application, costs £57.98/AED 281, plus delivery.

But if the reviews are true, £58/AED 281 and a temporarily undead face might be worth it for skin that looks a decade younger.
