Ed Sheeran announces engagement to fiance Cherry Seaborn

Ed Sheeran officially announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn via Instagram. Sheeran captioned the announcement, "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well."

The couple who have been secretly engaged for a month, met when they were both students at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk, but didn’t start dating until 2015 when Cherry lived in America. In 2016 Ed took a year off from the music business to travel the world with Cherry, as his now fiancé became Ed's musical muse, inspiring hits like “Perfect.”

Ed Sheeran’s music is often a popular first dance song choice at weddings, which leaves us wondering if it’s acceptable to play your own song at your wedding?! Maybe one of Ed’s musical partners will perform, after he’s recently collaborated with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Eminem. We’ll probably have to wait a while to find out though, as no wedding details have been released so far.

Still, we’re happy for newly engaged star-studded couple, but they aren’t the only celebrities to announce their engagement in 2018…
