After the announcement of Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle yesterday, we are already anticipating the royal wedding in spring 2018. And our thoughts are turning towards THE dress.
Spring 2018 bridal trends just got even bigger! With Chantilly lace, tulle skirts, ball gowns and statement bows showcased for the season, we’re wondering which look Meghan Markle will choose for her wedding gown, and more importantly which designer!
Back in 2011 The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton opted for a classic lace Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress. But, Bridal Fashion Week for spring ’18 featured bold collections from designers like Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera, as rumours have begun as to which Meghan Markle will wear on her wedding day.

Personally we believe the new member of the Royal Family should come to the Middle East for wedding gown inspiration. As Beirut-based designer Zuhair Murad and fellow Lebanese designer Elie Saab, are both currently dominating the red carpet with their designs. Their bridal collections for spring 2018 are also stunning, with detailed embroidery on sheer dresses, off-the-shoulder wedding gowns, classic silhouettes and some deep V-necks.
Bridal looks for spring 2018 also include pearl embellishments, ruffles and wedding gloves, all fit for a princess style bride. Also watch out for bridal capes decorated in lace and embroidery, which will start to appear in 2018 spring weddings, before they trend heavily in the fall 2018 bridal collections.
Although Meghan Markle won’t take the title of Princess (she will probably be a Duchess, just like Kate) she will still officially be a Princess and so she needs the wedding dress to mirror her new status and gorgeous engagement ring!
