Don't underestimate the power of fashion when it comes to work.

Studies have time and again shown that what you wear to work matters. People build their perception of you based on how you dress and unless you are Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Jobs, trust us, you need to put the effort in to look polished and refined at work.

Every fashion girl worth her salt knows how important it is to dress well. Here are 8 rules she lives by when it comes to being stylish and sophisticated at work.

1. She plans her outfit the night before.

A fashion girl plans her outfit the night before because she knows she will have more time to choose something appropriate and stylish as compared to choosing an outfit when she's rushing in the morning. Also, those extra ten minutes of beauty sleep never hurt anyone.

2. She makes sure her outfit is wrinkle-free.

Cause wrinkles can turn even the most amazing outfit into a sloppy looking one.

3. She always has an extra pair of heels on hand.

If she isn't wearing heels to work every day already, a fashion girl always has a pair of high heels by her desk/in her car so that she can look polished should there be an unannounced meeting/presentation.
