The Internet Is Not Happy About Melania Trump's $51,000 D&G Jacket

On the final day of Donald and Melania Trump's first official tour as President and First Lady, the First Lady started a fashion storm.

At a G7 leaders' partners lunch that took place at the Elephant Palace in Sicily's Town Hall, Melania showed up in a simple beige dress with a beautiful 3D flower jacket by Dolce & Gabbana draped on her shoulders.

While the outfit itself is stunning, the price tag of the jacket sent the internet into a frenzy. Worth $51,000 (yes, you read that right), the jacket's price is just a few thousand dollars below the median US yearly income in 2016.

The jacket alone could pay salary for a teacher, police officer, coal miner working in the US. Ouch.

The designer Stefano Gabbana has been celebrating the looks on social media. He posted a video and several pictures of Melania with the caption "THANK YOU" followed by a string of heart emojis.
