The 22-year-old Perla El-Helou was crowned over the weekend Miss Lebanon 2017, during the annual event organized by the "LBC," beating off 14 other competitors.
The business-graduate stated that she believes protest movements work better if they first agree on shared objectives, when asked for her opinion about the role of social movements in changing the reality of Lebanon.
The show hosted by Dima Sadek, took place in "Casino du Liban". And the crown was given to El-Helou by Miss Lebanon 2016, Sandy Tabet.
Contestants of this year’s event were judged by Harout Fazlian, head of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lebanon, Kristina Bazan, international blogger, Fady El-Khatib, basketball player, Ibrahim Maalouf, trumpeter and composer.
The event attendees varied between public figures, social media influencers, TV personnel, famous athletes, singers, and even public people. And here’s some of the looks that managed to stand out from the crowd:
