She might be the unanimous crush of America at the moment, but things weren’t always so flawlessly stylish for the former Miss World — Priyanka Chopra.
Today, in her mid-30s, she is slaying red carpets, setting trends and inspiring millions around the world. But there was a time when she was a timid 19-year old — fresh into the world of glitz and glamour. It took her 16 years to reach the pinnacle of her success — and to be called a style icon.

Year 2000: I Am Miss World

Year 2002 - 2004: Look-At-Me Attempts
The beauty queen made her much-hyped Bollywood debut dripping in accessories and embellishments. Her initial year in the industry was a desperate cry for attention. She did several racy shoots and even tried the goodie-two-shoe girl mantra.
Her attempts only led to embarrassing pictures that she certainly doesn't want anyone to see.

Year 2005 - 2008: Yes To Surgeries
The good girl act clearly didn't work for this dusky beauty so she decided to go with the bad girl roles. Her major Bollywood breakthrough came with a negative role as a seductress.
Of course, by that time, she had realised that a few nips and tucks would be worth a shot. Her enhanced features led to a slight improvement in her fashion sense too. She ditched the conservative sarees and jewellery and opted for flattering bold cuts for public appearances.

Year 2013 - 2015: Prep Time
After years of struggling with bad stylists and drab designers, Priyanka finally found her balance around 2012.
By that time, she was a superstar in Bollywood with hit movies and awards in her kitty. She was a style icon with top-notch designers and stylists at her disposals.
It almost seems as if her later years in Bollywood were a prep time to make it big in Hollywood.

Year 2016 Till Date: America's Style Icon
In late 2015, Priyanka became Alex Parrish - a gorgeous FBI recruit who took Hollywood by storm. She exuded an earthy charm and nailed every designer look she wore.
