Sheikha Dana Al Khalifa of Bahrain has a bio that reads royal, entrepreneur, law graduate, fashion blogger and now model, after Dana made her runway debut for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2019.
Saudi-based Dana Al Khalifa appeared on the D&G catwalk in floral printed dress, in a bold red hue. It was just one striking look from a huge 151-piece collection from the iconic Italian fashion brand. Dana also sported over-sized embellished hoops and flower pinned accessories in her hair to complete her stunning ensemble.
The Bahrain born princess, who founded the fashion blog ‘The Overdressed,’ revealed that she chose to dress modestly to reflect her Middle Eastern culture on the catwalk.

By featuring an Arab royal on the runway, Dolce & Gabbana's SS19 collection moved towards inclusion in the industry. With a sometimes negative reputation in fashion that includes accusations of fat-shaming and cultural appropriation, it was important for the brand to show diversity in this collection entitled “DNA.”
Thus, Dana Al Khalifa was joined on the runway by plus-size model Ashley Graham, 70-year-old Maye Musk, musician Jessica Jung, the first black viscountess in Britain and even a baby!
The show had many versatile looks and unique moments, as we also saw a bride who wore trainers under her tulle gown, with gold headphones instead of a tiara.

Sheikha Dana Al Khalifa certainly enjoyed the show as she wrote this Instagram caption: “Thank you @dolcegabbana for having me walk your show it was absolutely unreal! I’m still shaking!” Dana described her runway moment as an absolute dream, as she was honoured that she got to experience something so grand.
