Everybody loves a good spine chilling tale but would you dare to relive one?
From disembodied hands helping you sleep to creepy cribs screeching outside your room – here is a list of 6 spooky hotels you wouldn’t want to spend your night in.

1. The Stanley Hotel, London

Location: 19-21 Belgrave Rd, Pimlico, London SW1V 1RB, UK

A brief history: Built in 1090, The Stanley Hotel has been the home of paranormal activities even before the horror master Stephen King came here to write his novel, The Shining.

Paranormal Activity: Although dead, the owner, F.O Stanley and his wife never left supervising the hotel. Guests have reportedly heard them playing the piano. The sounds of children running and laughing down the halls frequently reported on the fourth floor are a regular occurrence. A former housekeeper who died at the hotel still assists guests in Room 217 in packing and unpacking their belongings.

2. Ballygalley Castle Hotel, UK

Location: Coast Rd, Ballygally BT40 2QZ, UK

A brief history: The eerie home of Lord James Shaw and his wife was built in 1625. The castle’s history is proof to many incidents including the death of Lady Isabella who was pushed from the top of the castle after her husband locked her in the tower room.

Paranormal Activity: The friendly ghost of Lady Isabella wandering around in the gardens and knocking on the doors.

3. Russell Hotel, Australia

Location: 143A George St, The Rocks NSW 2000, Australia

A brief history: Located in Sydney’s oldest neighbourhoods, Russel Hotel was home to the sleazy slum full of crime. A sailor’s sanctuary, Room 8 is occupied by a colonial-era sailor, till date.

Paranormal Activity: The sailor likes to wander around and stare at the sleeping guests. Some guests have also reported incidents involving prostitutes who would beckon travellers only to vanish in the dark night

4. Chelsea Hotel NYC, USA

Location: 222 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10011, USA

A brief history: The home to the glitzy world of Hollywood, Chelsea Hotel went to ruins after English musician, Sid Vicious murdered his girlfriend at the hotel and later died too. Welsh Poet Dylan Thomas also died at the hotel, at the age of 39.

Paranormal Activity: The hotel staff regularly saw Dylan's ghost that never really left the hotel. Some guests have heard eerie sounds coming from Room 206 where he died.

5. Hotel Del Coronado, USA

Location: 1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118, USA

A brief history: In 1892 a mysterious American woman, Kate Morgan died at the hotel after a few days of checking then. Since then, Hotel Del Coronado has withstood many allegations of paranormal activities and sightings.

Paranormal Activity: Lights flickering, televisions turning on and off and a beautiful woman standing by the window.

6. The Hollywood Roosevelt, USA

Location: 7000 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028, USA

A brief history: The grand Roosevelt Hotel has been at the hub of Hollywood's nightlife since 1927.

Paranormal activity: Marilyn Monroe is said to have been seen reflected in a mirror in room 229, she has also been sighted dancing in the hotel’s ballroom. Montgomery Clift has apparently been heard playing the trumpet and pacing the hallways while reciting his old lines; Errol Flynn has also been repeatedly seen at the hotel.
