When the clock struck midnight on 24th June 2018 Cinderella was free to drive her own carriage, as the ban was lifted on women driving in Saudi Arabia. Saudi women are now legally allowed to drive in the country for the first time since 1957, with many women (and men) celebrating the historic day on social media using hashtags such as #SaudiWomenDriving.

The lifting of the ban is part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 plan, which includes several changes for women in KSA and focuses on social reform in the Kingdom.
